If a college education is such a great investment why would this be necessary?

Because we created a society that made a college degree equivalent to a high school diploma of the 70’s and 80’s when you could get out of HS and get a well-paying job.

I would put it differently. What happened was that society was scammed by the higher education complex that getting a college degree made one better than those who don’t and then was able to get the BA/BS degree as a requirement for the so-called white-collar jobs. What we need to do is throw out our illogical and antiquated higer education system (starting from high school) and reform it.

Why would party matter? I worked my way through college and paid for daughters tuition, including med school. I don’t care what party someone is when it comes to this.
