And with a fifth column media, the spin that will out-shout the truth is that MAGA stole this from people.

I’ll say that the point of the meme (which is a thoroughly valid point) is not the reason SCOTUS ruled the way it did.

Congress could implement a forgiveness plan, and that would be totally constitutional, though I would disagree with the principles behind it.

In fact, my guess is that some day Congress will do that. And when they do, I’ll likely be disappointed in it.

And the prevailing leanings of cultural elites and intelligentsia are that a call for a return to constitutional government behavior is somehow extreme and MAGA.

He is a politician, of course he will spin it to his best advantage

Great post. The notion that a president has the power to pay off student loans is scary. What’s next car loans, home loans?

I think college is important, but its pricing is getting ridiculous.

This was not the way to fix it though, glad to see it struck down.

If only people thought that way when it comes to too big to fail.

Many of us do.

Do give Biden his due, a rare instance where he delivered the goods, the publicity lift here worked out for him good enough leading up to the 2022 mid terms. Just seems like more and more Dems sort of realize Joe no longer can bring a 100 mph fastball even once in a blue moon. What do you think the chances are #46 bows out of seeking re-election due to medical concerns before too long?

Always love when conservatives celebrate a loan
System that is restricted by the government to be written off in bankruptcy, can withhold tax refund among other things

You took out the loan that’s like no other loan in existence and we get to pass laws to make sure you pay it :joy:

Hopefully that POS won’t be…

He sure did. And he has been caught trying to fulfill that promise.

And you can be certain that the campaign will assign blame to conservatism generally, Trump specifically, and the Trump justices by name.

Rub that together with the transphobia, the homophobia, the book banning, the inability to govern, the promise for vengeance and retribution, the removal of a woman’s right to choose, the overall corruption of the court, and you really start to see the outlines of the case the democrats will make against the republicans next year.

Now of course this case is not being made for those of on the right here at this forum. The Biden administration doesn’t care about you, and neither do I.

But ask yourself: what effect do you think this case will have on millennials and generation z and their voting behaviors?

“Conservatives”

Don’t like it , don’t take out the loan then.

Right even if a trade school has no financial aid nor can you qualify for a private loan. Screw it. The world needs service sector workers.

The college crowd is already in large part indoctrinated as liberal to the core. So this SCOTUS ruling has little impact on likely gain to Dems in 2024 General Election. The question for you is this election more likely to piss off many Biden voters from 2020? After all, the average person did not really get to understand the real truth in 2020. For example, Hunter’s laptop was not Russian disinformation and a straw man for the family business of influence peddling and income tax invasion to boot. Imagine if any of us received millions of dollars from foreign interests while being in elected office….

The average person doesn’t give a flying dragon about your list.

Don’t confuse political nerds with the average person

They didn’t care about Russian collusion either

That’s the spirit. Campaign on grievance and inference.

Meanwhile, Dems will campaign on the specific harms that Republicans have wrought. Let’s see who does better

Then - take out the loan - go to class, do your homework, graduate, get a job - and pay back the loan. That’s what I (and many countless others) did. It’s called being a responsible adult.

Prior to the bush administration people who face serious live issues were able to write off the loan in bankruptcy

You guys keep ignoring the fact that unlike a bank which cannot change terms after the loan is issued, the government can passs laws completely altering the terms including the interest rate.

Responsible adult!!!
