Biden takes 32-point lead over Sanders

Clinton lost Iowa and New Hampshire in 1992, and McGovern lost both in 1972.

But, but, but… how can Sanders be fading. I thought the entire Democratic Party had been taken over by scary SOCIALISTS!!!

Quick, work up new talking points.

Your choice of presenting a number rather than an emotion proves you have nothing worthwhile to say in this matter.

OK. I was wrong.

The “how do we pay for it?” question is a dead giveaway that a person hasn’t seriously looked into the issue and is simply reacting with a fact-free ideology.

It will not be paid the way it is now. Right now, people who have paid Medicare taxes have paid for 40 years or so, get the money from those currently paying Medicare taxes. (I do understand that even though they pay 40 years or so, they will draw more money out then they put in, if they live a decent amount of years after retirement.) That money will no longer go to them, since they have to worry about paying for themselves. Anyway, Sanders idea of Medicare for all, includes things not even covered currently (like Dental), which makes it even more expensive. Based on the raid of Medicare by Obamacare Medicare is about to run out of money in 2026 or so. https://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/medicare-insolvency-2026-obamacare-spending-cuts/

Besides that, the extremely long wait in places like Britain with people going blind, and the current VA, which is national health care in action which has people dying because of waits, (and only made better because vets have a choice to go to nonVa doctors and hospitals, ie, private, not public) would be even worse. The plan to do away with private insurance would be fatal to people who depend on private insurance right now to supplement Medicare because Medicare by itself is not enough for most people. People get private insurance right now to supplement Medicare, would be lost and out of luck. Harris as well as Sanders wants to let only if you want to get a nose job or something. 32 Trillion in 10 years is what one would pay which is about 10 billion $ more than the accumulation of all debt from Washington to Trump.

Everybody’s taxes would go way up, right now, the medical technology that is developing right now to deal with cancer would go out the window. Sure, monthly premiums that people pay would go away, but in Sweden, to support the health plan, (which by the way did not improve the peoples health, they already had very good health before National Health was imposed), all not just the rich have to pay 65% of their income for that (and they pay nothing like the US does for defense). And Sweden, as well as England (where many go blind waiting for eye surgery,) they have private insurance for those who can afford it, they can get treatment through private insurance which Sanders and Harris are against.

A much better way is Switzerland where there is private insurance, and all get insured. Those extra expenses in the US on the private health plans are because of the mandates from the government. Need to get true competition to make it more economically feasible.

With that said, would be nice to hear what Joe has to say what his ideas are now for the solution to the health care issue.

Math is not cool.

Economics is especially not cool.

It’s rare though.

Democrats will never allow Bernie to head their ticket…never.

Bernie and his supporters should have started a third party if they ever want to be taken seriously.

This is funny.

I gave a list of some of current issues at the beginning. At the end I added other things.
it would be remiss to not have him address these older issues.

Remiss for whom?

It’s early but this poll is not insignificant just because both Biden and Sanders aren’t unknown names/entities.

So yeah, of course, things could change many times - a lesser-known experiences a surge (especially as many others especially drop out), but if you’re a Biden backer, you have to be liking these numbers (as well as recent favorable head-to-heads with Trump)

Jeb Bush

As I said when he got into the race, the rest of the loony Democrat hopefuls make Biden look good.

Repeating one’s opinion doesn’t make it so.

Jeb Bush never polled more than 18%.

Agreed, he is a problem.

Access Hollywood ring a bell? None of that matters anymore, Trump has basically made it that morality means nothing. He is immoral and Conservatives could care less, they want judges.

Why should Dems not follow this line and think more about the W and less about optics?

You started doing that long ago. Ever hear of Bill Clinton? Ever hear of a moral reprobate named John F. Kennedy?
