Beyond offering guidelines and modest levels of support what else can the Federal government do for all the states? After that it’s up to the Governors of each state to implement what they deem best for their own state. It’s not exactly rocket science what to do, which is to order a COMPLETE LOCKDOWN in which nobody is allowed to go out at all other than for food, and do that for however long it takes. Even with that you would have to give everyone a number on when they could go out. Eventually the virus (theoretically) would have no place to go and would (theoretically) die. The problem has been that NOBODY wants to implement such draconian measures.

In January, Biden also criticized as xenophobic the administration’s travel ban to China as the outbreak began to worsen, although it was instrumental in preventing an outbreak in the United States much sooner.

“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia,” Biden said during an Iowa campaign event.

In response to Biden’s Thursday press conference, the Trump campaign put out a statement reminding the public of Biden’s opposition to the China travel ban.

“Just weeks ago, he was openly critical of President Trump’s early move to restrict travel from China to the United States in response to the coronavirus – a decision which medical experts agree helped impede the spread of the virus to this country,” Trump Communications Director Tim Murtaugh said. “President Trump acted early and decisively and has put the United States on stronger footing than other nations.”

Trump has not practiced nor promoted any of those things. He says we test too much. He holds rallies where social distancing and masks are not practiced. He was sick and he still went out.
Trump lied to the American people. He still says we are rounding the corner while a thousand people a day are dying. He repeats conspiracy theories that undermine doctors and scientists.

What will Joe do differently? He will promote the science. He will not undermine the best tools we have. He will model the behavior needed to reduce the spread. He will provide the guidelines needed to safely open schools and businesses and then follow them.

Granted Trump’s rallies are not promoting those things but for many, many, many nights, early on in this pandemic, he promoted two doctors…standing beside him, on national television to provide their POV. All you had to do was listen. That’s Trump promoting the right people, to tell you the right things and he did so at the right time. The only question that remains is, were YOU listening?
