In what? Government control over people’s personal lives?
It is enforceable - but not on the basis of her signing a contract.
You are correct that most contracts entered into by minors are voidable, and therefore unenforceable.
But the enforability of the school rules does not come from a contract - I never signed any contracts in school as a minor, and yet the rules still applied to me.
If a government can control what I say on campus… why can’t they control what I say off campus? Especially if it is against their code of conduct.
Why should they have that kind of power over someone off campus?

If it isn’t a conduct contract?..What is it?
It is still a minor and adults should be above the nonsense.
Because the B.L.'s action had an on-campus impact directly attributable to the school, the teams, and the coaches of the school when she said the team could " ■■■■ off ", the school could " ■■■■ off " and the coach could " ■■■■ off " to social media and transmitted it to hundreds of team mates and fellow students at the school.

How does this case differ from this one?

What does that even mean in a tangible manner?
Zero impact, other than some poor coach having his feelings hurt after someone went snitching. At no point was the school placed in danger, or learning disrupted. What a stupid argument in favor of being controlled like a lemming. lol

They cannot describe any harm.
That means no foul.
No school connection from a MINOR.
I think they secretly agree with how moronic this is, but don’t feel they have a choice but to argue the opposite of a conservative’s opinion. Sad, but also funny.

It’s the school rules.
Just like no running in the halls, and don’t be late to class.
The conservative position is the understand that people should keep their word, that they should follow the rules, and that they should be respectful to the team and the coaches.
The liberal position is that the student should be able to do and say whatever she wants no matter what the rules and with no responsibitlity.
I’m glad to take the conservative position.

School rules stop at school interest.
That she signed it means nothing.
This is all a huge waste of everyone’s effort.
She said he can jump off or some such nonsense…That means nothing…NOTHING.
And then there’s your appeal to authority position. lol
Bingo.
At issue is her conduct in relation to the school team and to employees of the school system function in their official capacity. The school has an interest.

In this thread we have conservatives siding with the 1st Amendment.
Meanwhile, the libs:
“It’s the rules, so that’s how it should be!”
“Government needs to monitor kids during their personal time!”
“She said a bad word! GET HER!”

Well, that’s the question right there. How far does the school’s interest go?
That’s the relevant legal question - not whether she signed an enforceable contract.
Yes, exactly.
