So now you resort to another stupid debating trick . . . exaggerate what you opponent has stated and then, by innuendo respond to your own exaggeration. That’s not a very smart way to debate, so, I guess you have answered your uncertainty about smartness.

My opinion is to follow our constitutions, State and Federal, and not impose our personal sense of fairness, reasonableness or justice as the rule of law.

“The public welfare demands that constitutional cases must be decided according to the terms of the Constitution itself, and not according to judges’ views of fairness, reasonableness, or justice.” – Justice Hugo L. Black ( U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1886 - 1971) Source: Lecture, Columbia University, 1968

Cooking steaks now. See you later alligator.

Just seems so weird that almost no one wants to answer this question. I appreciate Zantax directly answering it.

As the OP asserts Presidents should not mandate such things as vaccines, the natural follow up question as to who should is 100% germane to the subject. That some choose not to answer the question, and/or consider it a diversion or debating tactic is puzzling.

And the answer to the question is

the elected legislature in each particular state, and done so in compliance with their state Constitution.

Ok so if your state decides that they can issue a covid-19 mandated vaccine as per compliance with their state constitution, would you be ok with that?

If this and if that . . .

I gave you my answer. As to my personal feelings, and would I be ok with a covid vaccine mandate that is in compliance with a State’s Constitution, I cannot see a one size fits all mandate being upheld as constitutional. There are specific instance in which such a mandate would be fatal to some who are forced to accepting the vaccine.

Ok thanks for your viewpoint.

Now, I have a question for you. Why are you so insistent in digressing from the subject of the thread which involves the federal government pursuing a blatant course of action which violates our Constitution?

Is it not a fact we have Hamilton confirming Biden has no authority to enter the states and meddle in the internal affairs of the States?

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected.

The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State." ___ Federalist No. 45

Additionally, the Tenth Amendment declares:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people.

And finally, has our supreme court not already confirmed such power, if it exists, exists within those powers retained by the States?

Let us keep to the subject of the thread.

The Democrat Party Leadership, once an advocate for hard working American citizens and their families, is now their worst nightmare.

The Federal government has been involved in mass vaccination since the beginning of the country starting with George Washington and small pox. The Supreme Court has upheld mass vaccination in numerous cases. The Federal government created the initiative for public school vaccination that has been adopted by all 50 states.

I would say that the Federal government has constitutional authority in these matters based on Article 1 Section 8.

"The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States."

No constitutional problem.

Dictate? I can’t dictate to anybody. Not that I know of anyway. Oh wait, I was just appointed President of the Universe.

Correlation is not causeation. There have been miscarriages and deaths with women who have not been vaccinated too.

And your assertion about adverse reactions compared to other vaccines is pure bunk.

Yes. ALL vaccines … indeed ALL medicines … carry a risk of adverse side effects.

Yes, absolutely. One is Constitutional and the other is not.

Indeed, Samm. There’s a whole list of them when you receive your prescription. I had a pretty bad reaction to my two-dose shingles vaccine. For 24 hours, then over. But I also know a physician that died after taking a prescription dose of Motrin. One in a million thing. I’m having a knee replacement in December. My mom nearly died of an infection following her knee replacement. You take all kinds of risks with surgery. You risk your life in a car, probably far more than a Covid vaccine. Life is uncertain and full of risks.

Extra protected?

I’m not sure “extra” protected is the right word. But I think your protection is enhanced. Call that “extra.” I’m going to get a booster as soon as I meet the time limit. Maybe I’ll get a Covid vaccine every year. Along with the flu vaccine. Seems reasonable to do so, given my age.

Amen brother!
