Biden and Dems are still Hiding their Supreme Court Picks Why?

Whatever happened to fairness and transparency on the democratic party side lately? its almost election and they are still hiding and wont reveal their choices for the Supreme Court until the democrats get what they wanted and that’s a majority controlled senate ? that seems a bit unfair and not transparent.

For the same liberals who are claiming that they love the constitution they dont seem to be acting upon it. By trying to hide their choices for the Courts. Is it problary they know because their choices would be problary to socialist on the issues?

Schumer on the interviews this past weeks has claimed that he and dems would throw everything to make “god willing” to make sure to pack the courts. Even stating he would make it so if Puerto Rico becomes a state.

I must have missed the part where the Constitution says the minority (or controlling) party must list its potential Supreme Court justices in advance. How many must they list to avoid “hiding” their choices from “the Courts?” Where can I find the list for the Republican party? I think it’s “problary” not there.

Isnt Trump the first one to put out a list?..Too bad hes not as forthcoming with his taxes. Another first with this administration.

While I support a nominee releasing a list, the established norm is that President’s and Presidential nominees are under no such obligation.

So Biden is not hiding anything under the established norms.

But, to save everybody time and bother, here is the nominee, when and if Biden gets a Supreme Court vacancy.

Your welcome.

As i feared a socialist judge. That will problary push heavy on a number of gun banning laws among other issues.

Whats with you and Trump taxes? the NYT article own article already shows he already paid taxes. Remember how not so well MSNBC tried to bait and switch its audience with this tax nonsense and didnt go well for Maddow MSNBC’s host? the last time in 2016/2017?

If Trump decides to release his taxes fully the media still wouldn’t believe it.

I personally think that the hundreds of millions of dollars that the President owes that he has no way of paying back is a little troubling.

It is also troubling that we don’t know who he owes it to.

Please. Enlighten us. What rulings has she made which are “socialist?” I put socialist in quotation marks because I can’t wait to hear what your definition of that word is. It seems that word is an ambiguous pejorative term to stoke fear in the right.

According to Biden:

. . .the American people have a right to have a say to who the Supreme Court nominee is, and that say occurs when they vote for United States senators and when they vote for the President of the United States.

See transcript starting at 3:56

Later in the debate he has refused to provide any possible court picks, and he also refused to answer the question about packing the court. I have seen no comments from Biden about Democrat proposals to admit more states to get more Democrats in the Senate.

If Biden’s logic is that the American voters should have more input about the choice, then logically he needs to provide details about what voting Democrat would give in the court and the Senate.

Of course the American voters already chose when the voted for President Trump and a Republican majority in the Senate. Elections have consequences, it is just that the Democrats are hiding what the real consequences would be if they take power.

Trump’s taxes are not the topic of this thread, are they?

Quit trolling.

Oh… then I don’t care what Biden’s court picks are going to be.

I know that they won’t be someone from the Federalist society pipeline and that is good enough for me

I think that most Biden voters would agree.

Thank you @Scratch

Biden doesn’t want the voters to know how radical they would be.

Probably Tliab and Omar prototypes.

Um…has Biden won and taken over the Presidency and I missed it?

Lol. Bet you never thought Roberts would save Obama care.

Once freed from the shackles of politics, justices can and do what they want to do. Regardless of who put them in office.

Why are you so hung up on tax returns? As far as I am aware, there are no laws requiring the dissemination of individual tax returns to the general public.

I kind of wonder what you reaction would be if your tax returns were made public, and every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the planet could peruse them at will for whatever reason they wanted.

Seven presidents have released their tax returns, so it has sent a precedent. And I believe that it is for good reason. I have said for many years that I believe that this president is compromised. I believe that he has obtained funds from foreign governments and that has the potential for being very dangerous.
Hell, you couldn’t get a job in a federal building cafeteria if you had outstanding loans from a overseas bank.

And there is also no law concerning a candidates SCOTUS list, which is the topic of this discussion.

You can be sure Trump has no clue about the people on his list.

You would have to refer those inquiries to the Federalist Society.

The only reason that the Trump administration has been competent and successful with judicial nominations is because he delegated that function to the Federalist Society from the start.
