Crossing the border is illegal unless they do so announcing themselves at a port of entry. Subsequent claims of asylum when caught do not remove the illegality of the border crossing.

This is just a good example of redistributive justice. It is just seeking for the sanctuary cities to shoulder their fair share of the national burden. I thought redistribution of resources and sharing the burden was an honored progressive tenant.
