The punishment is relative to the severity of the crime, not the individuals charged.
No, he wasnât. Compare exoneration and a not guilty verdict.
Pretty sad when the actual rapist confessed to the crime and his DNA matched that found on the victim but people still want to believe the voices in their heads.

Finding his semen on the victim does not in any way rule out others being involved.
Confession and DNA evidence from the rapist who also said he acted alone. Let me guess, canât trust the confession? He was protecting the five? Pretty evident by now those five are guilty no matter what in the eyes of Trump and his followers.

Not going to bother rehashing the entire case.
Give me 12 hours and a free hand and Iâd have you confessing to kidnapping the Lindbergh baby.
Confessions are historically very unreliable because they are so easily coerced under pressure, torture or both.
Donât be so pendantic.

THE PRESIDENT: Also better than projected.
But more importantly: So, we have more cases because we do the greatest testing. If we didnât do testing, weâd have no cases. Other countries â they donât test millions. So weâre up to almost 30 million tests. So when you do 30 million, youâre going to have a kid with the sniffles, and theyâll say itâs coronavirus â whatever you want to call it.
I said the other night, âThere are so many names to this.â I could name 19 names, like âCorona-19.â But I could name 19 names.
But the fact is that thereâs never been a thing like this. Weâve done 30 million â almost. Weâll be there probably today or tomorrow. Thirty million tests. And when you do tests, you have cases. But what they donât say is there are fewer deaths than there have been. Way, way down. And our mortality rate is among the best countries in the world â meaning, people that die. Because a lot of these tests, itâs a case â itâs a kid â doesnât even know.
In some cases, itâs people that didnât even know they were sick. Maybe they werenât. But it shows up in a test. So theyâll say 30 million tests. Now you have a big percentage of that. But other countries do very few tests, so it shows they have very few cases.
FASLE! We are not among the best mortality rates in the world.

They werenât guilty.
They were scapegoated.
I lived in the NYC area when this went down.
Someone was going to be found guilty for this crime- it was horrific, and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Anyone who was there at the time knows how supercharged the atmosphere in NYC was at the time.

- The states were already mass incarcerating. The public wanted tougher sentencing. It was a platform used by both sides. Whatâs your point? Biden helped write a law that was popular with both the public and both sides of the aisle?
- Blame everyone at the time for the war on drugs and the sentencing issues. Biden was not a lone actor.
- Silliness.
-
So what? Biden helped write a law doubling down on terrible policies. The popularity of what one does isnt the measure of its appropriateness. Again, slavery and Jom Crow were popular. Iâd highly doubt youâd argue either were fine on that grounds.
-
Of course I do. Why do you think that absolves Biden of crap, ill considered policies that he championed with ferocity? Everyone was doing it is your argument? Thatâs horse crap.
-
Not silliness. The dude championed, advocated, and wrote law and policies that have resulted in our current climate. Unca Joe is directly responsible for why our cities are burning. Just because everyone else from then is too doesnât somehow excuse him. Thatâs such an odd argument.
So, your point is, the reason Biden is bad is that he agreed with almost every Republican at that time and was opposed not by the Right, but by the farther left? And that is the reason we shouldâŚvote for Trump???
OkayâŚ

*sigh. I keep repeating this. Maybe eventually enough people will read it:
I didnât vote for Trump. Iâm not voting for Trump.
Oh, I get that. I just donât understand the argument that Biden is bad because he agreed with Republicans on some issues 30 years ago.
âHe voted for the war, alongside the GOP. That means he has poor judgmentâ.
âHe voted with the GOP for more aggressive drug laws. That means he has poor judgmentâ
Maybe it just means he isnât blindly partisan?

No, thatâs not the argument. This is my argument. I already posted it above, but Iâll link it again.
I know what the concern was. Iâm aware that Dems and Repubs were in the race to see who could be tougher on crime. Blinded by that political race, both sides kept upping the ante on who could be tougher until you get an exhorbitant amount of lengthy prisons sentences and death penalty eligible crimes. It was stupid then and it didnât take hindsight to figure it out. Especially in the late 80âs and early 90âs when Biden was most strongly championing draconian policies re: crime and the evidence âŚ
is among the best countries in the world
Yes we are, we are well below the worldwide average even including the countries in desert areas of the tropics and the southern hemisphere that is just now starting into their normal respiratory virus seasons.
Now by your own standard is this âmisspeaking or outright liesâ?

I think that those are important faults that need to be pointed out and discussed. The war on drugs and Bidenâs push for criminal reform are a failure on his part.
That in no way means that the President is a better choice come November.

I share this concern. Ditto with K Harris.
Curious to know what your preference is in terms of policing and sentencing.
