Beto O’Rourke, who rose to fame during his high-stakes race against Sen. Ted Cruz, was officially invited to speak to the New Hampshire Democratic Party this week; testing the waters for a potential run for the White House in 2020.

“Since O’Rourke’s loss earlier this month, Rob Friedlander, a senior advisor to the Texas Democrat’s campaign, has received calls from the New Hampshire Young Democrats requesting that O’Rourke come to the Granite State,” writes CNBC.

The Democrats “extended an invitation via email. No further action has been taken at this time," said a spokesperson with the O’Rourke campaign.

Beto raised eyebrows just days ago when he reversed course from previous claims he had no ambitions to run for the White House; saying he was open to all political opportunities in the future.

“When he’s on the stump, it’s engaging,” said the President of New Hampshire’s Young Democrats. “When he speaks you’re excited and you know he believes in it. You want to buy into that movement. That’s why people are excited.”
