Who said China? There is a German brand and other euro brands that cant be sold here because they don’t meet labeling requirements.

Import formula from Germany and Sweden?

……

……

Seems kind of obvious from the first date a problem was noticed.

I was simply thinking about places from which we import things…

Top down control produces shortages, how did we not learn from the Soviets? Huge FDA regulatory barrier to entry, resulting in only four or five huge companies being in the market, surprise, not robust.

The Democrats are creating their own problems, telling people that they need the Democrats to fix it, and then Capitalists are going to have to jump in and actually fix it.

The U.S. will increase baby formula imports as part of an effort to ease a nationwide shortage, senior Biden administration officials said on Thursday.

Y’all spoke way too soon. Did y’all really think the Dems weren’t going to try and do anything?

There is always bartering and donations. The American people can fix this by having moms who are producing excess give (more-nutritious-than-formula) breast milk to moms who can’t supply enough.

Time for small businesses and charities to do their magic.

Are you speaking in general? Because this doesn’t hold up in this instance.

Who is creating the shortage of formula?

All fixed then? Lol

Two words: Breast milk.

Babies need the immunity and “good” gut bacteria from breast milk.

The company that had to shut down their plant due to their dangerous unsanitary conditions.

Trumps deal with Canada that limited imports because China.

FDA regulations limiting imports from Europe.

The three major reasons in that order, with Abott taking a huge chunk of that blame.

Ok. But why buy what stock there is?

The Lactation Society. Good organization. Pay it forward. :+1:

This is unacceptable, government should stop whatever else it is doing and get on this. I can’t even imagine going to the store for formula to keep my kid alive and it being sold out. Unacceptable.

Y’all wanted the government to do something. They are, why so unhappy?

Long term fixes take time. We could renogiate trade deals, and import more. But then you run into the problem of why the protectionist policies were put in in the first place, loss of American jobs.

We could subsidize companies creating more plants in the US, but then companies run the risk of having too much supply and not enough demand.

Nope works for me, see how democratic suburban white women support holds up under baby formula shortages lols Democrats may as well shoot themselves in the head.

Well thank goodness.

Now if someone in the government had seen ahead even a small bit and projected closing down a major producer could cause a supply problem and acted prospectively instead of in response, one could have said a job well done.

Formula shortage = win for republicans

Nice!!!

No doubt. In an ordinary election year this would pretty bad. Most people don’t care that it was a company being forced to recall their product after killing children, due to their willfully negligence. Or that protectionist policies implemented to protect American jobs causes the shortage. They will just see who is in charge
