And from what I had already heard from the biggest “movers and shakers” (Tishman/Brown Harris/Cushman/Salomon/Goldman/Coldwell/…I can’t remember them all…) in the industry…what they thought of him? He was a joke and a con artist…
I had no interest in meeting him.

Yes but you are arguing he was essentially helpless as events unfolded but that tweet shows he had no issue with the violence and allowed it to continue for hours.
As many who were jailed later said they were there because Trump told them.

Just stop. Calling out the NG was the responsibility of the Capitol Police. Period!

Instead of whining “why didn’t Trump call them out” you should be asking why, even though the Commanding General of the DCNG put them on active standby and moved them closer to The Hill, the Capitol Police tried to handle it themselves and didn’t ask for help for hours.
