Morals, but those were banned years ago.
Robertsâ legacy is shot. The Roberts Court wil evermore be known as milquetoast incrementalists until they were run over roughgshod by the FS.
For which shooting?
Answer: Texas.

Steel-W0LF:
Youâd guess wrong. They take your SSN, and a photo of your ID every time you buy a gun.
There are no background checks required for private sales.
Stick with it!

So given the events of the past few days, I am wondering what you all think.
1.Should undocumented people have the same rights as US Citizens to keep and bear arms, with no questions asked?
- Should a mentally ill person, who reportedly âAlso has drug use conviction, a failure to appear and a revocation of probation.â have the right to keep and bear arms, with no questions asked?
Are they US citizens?
If not then no, they donât even have a ârightâ to stand on the square foot of land their feet occupy.
So, youâd support having to show proof of citizenship when buying. gun?
Yes, its called entering your SSN when filling out the background check form.
But Iâm guessing you donât have to show any proof currently, right? Would the NRA try to kill a regulation like that?
You currently have to enter your SSN, I may be wrong, but only US citizens have a valid SSN. Pretty sure that counts as âshowing proof of citizenshipâ. Unless you are for a national citizenship card.
Although you DO have to show a State issued ID with your current address, but anyone can get a state issued ID, hell, even some states issue illegal immigrants Drivers licenses.
Soooo, you kinda lost your attempt at a âgotchaâ.
Itâs also a violation to quote it

Why was the Texas guy allowed to have it and shoot it in his yard even after the police had been notified several times?
You would have to ask the Texas police that question.
more people need to be armed to stop this insanity

Iâm not pretending that any law or hoop will end all crime.
Iâd be happy if it would end ANY crime.

And?
You want to give Karen 2 houses down access to the NICS background check system?

And?
You want to give Karen 2 houses down access to the NICS background check system?
Better than giving her free reign to sell guns to whomever shows up with a wad of cash.
There is no enumerated power for that system.
You already have to show proof.
I have to provide my driver license every time I file out the federal form to purchase a gun.
Why?

Letâs just say youâre right and succeed and background checks for private sales passes.
How do you enforce it?
Gun registries are unconstitutional/illegal already. So say I own a gun, and want to sell it to my neighbor and I donât bother with the background check thatâs now law. You (the government) canât prove I owned it, nor that I sold it.
Youâve got an unenforceable toothless law.
Last time I checked a black market gun purchase is a private sale.

So yet another prohibited person?
In a no-gun zone.

RTchoke:
Do tou think that matters to those wanting to ban guns? Thatâs never one of the criteria or even considered.
Since almost no one wants to âban gunsâ your question is moot.
I strongly favor gun rights for people who use guns responsibly. But common sense solutions to reduce violence such as banning gun ownership by those with domestic violence restraining orders or those on the terrorism watchlist always get buried under cries of "you are trying to ban guns.â
My worry is that the intransigence of the 2nd Amendment absolutists in the face of common sense regulations that have broad support will eventually lead to broader restrictions than I want â or you want â as the public becomes increasingly incensed over inaction in the face of daily mass shootings.
His drug use conviction made him ineligible to purchase guns and the medical center is a gun-free zone. What additional law would have prevented this?
