At last examples of systemic racism?

Harvard claims that race-based SAT requirements are not discriminatory.

When is systemic racism a good thing?

It doesnā€™t. Cuz I donā€™t work there anymore. I filed an EOC complaint and they offered me a buyout. But this is not uncommon in corporate America if you are not part of a designated protected group.

In your dreams! Keep hope alive! King embodies our conservative principles. Thereā€™s nothing not to like.

No he actually doesnā€™t. Someone lied to you

About what? Iā€™m a conservative. I donā€™t make a habit of lying to myself.

ā€œI have a dream, my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their characterā€

There are certainly more conservatives who believe this than liberals. I know, Iā€™m one. If you ask 100 conservatives if they believe this with all their heart and soul, 99 will say yes. Why do you have a problem with that?

Wellā€¦this has to be one of the silliest things Iā€™ve read on this board in the past 24 hours. Before making these types of asinine statements maybe you should do a read up on Brother Martin thatā€™s not, ā€œI have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their characterā€. Hell, you can get a tiny clue on who Brother Martin was in that same speech and he definitely wasnā€™t one that embodied this current twisted brand of conservatism. You people keep on saying this dumb ā– ā– ā– ā–  , but this current brand of conservatism would have rejected Brother Martin. They will use the same labeling today that was used when he was alive, marxist, socialist, communist and probably all at the same damn time.

Really? Are you threatened by the fact that most conservatives admire MLK? Sorry, he is an American hero. You donā€™t own him. Get over it.

And to think a Hahvad professor criticized home schooling parents for possibly fostering racist values:

Here is a survey on those who are home schooled:

And this is the only line of his many many many speeches that conservatives love to quote. But you fail to quote him on his well though out stances on racism.

A quote without context by the way.

What part of his stance on racism do you believe I disagree with?

All of it.

Do you agree with his stance on racism?

Based on what? What gives you the authority to tell me what I believe? The tooth fairy?

This is AWESOME!

People all up in arms because nearly all conservatives are MLK fans. You canā€™t accept it. Why do you try to create a fight where there is none? We like him and thereā€™s not a damned thing you can do about it. Sorry about your luck. :innocent:

Summary

@Jamerican @altair1013 reel it in a lot. I asked for an edit before I read through. Thereā€™s no need for any of that here, so I deleted your back and forth.

Could you provide more context then ?

How about instead they are admitted solely on merit?

Not necessarily even fans. Itā€™s the message that matters, not the man.

Because itā€™s the single most prescient and important speech he ever gave and the most important line from the speech.

You donā€™t even have to agree with anything else he ever said or did to recognize how important that speech was or how that line affected and continues to affect the country.

What makes you think they arenā€™t?

Sure. But he was no conservative. Not by a long shot.
