Well…this has to be one of the silliest things I’ve read on this board in the past 24 hours. Before making these types of asinine statements maybe you should do a read up on Brother Martin that’s not, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. Hell, you can get a tiny clue on who Brother Martin was in that same speech and he definitely wasn’t one that embodied this current twisted brand of conservatism. You people keep on saying this dumb ■■■■ , but this current brand of conservatism would have rejected Brother Martin. They will use the same labeling today that was used when he was alive, marxist, socialist, communist and probably all at the same damn time.

You don’t even have to agree with anything else he ever said or did to recognize how important that speech was or how that line affected and continues to affect the country.

Those are some terrible stories. There is all sorts of bias in employment. Its fascinating that black people get labeled as victims and whiners for telling similar stories.

We’re fine with simply celebrating his civil rights accomplishments. We’re not going to tear down any of his statues because he wasn’t perfect. That’s not how we roll.

She was the first black teacher hired at the school in more than 25 years, Tammy Jordan claims in a lawsuit. She quit after her second year.

And since the Original Poster did ask for examples of systemic racism, here is another from an old friend of mine. Keep in mind this was in the 1980s and 1990s, so most likely this lady is retired. If she has passed, RIP, Lucia.

Like Tammy Jordan in the above linked story, Lucia taught at a school with white majority students & staff. She taught high school English & Spanish, btw.

It was always assumed as a biracial Latina, Lucia got the job via Affirmative Action. When there were budget cuts in the district & Lucia kept her job, Affirmative Action.

Nobody considered that maybe being able to teach two subjects instead of just one may have helped her retain her employment. She was always labeled a beneficiary of Affirmative Action.

Now unlike Tammy Jordan, Lucia was able to get one harasser, a vice principal, away from her. As for black people being labeled victims and whiners when they speak up, you’ve got a good point there.

Yet a big problem as far as speaking up at Larchmont Elementary was the Principal—a black man. Far as sexism, as in that story, Luz’ VP harasser was female.

As with Luz & Ms. Jordan, with all of the emphasis on lecherous men & getting them warned for such offenses as saying that’s a nice dress, I find women to be the far worse harassers of other women just trying to do their jobs & go home.
