reading is your friend, you should learn to do it, and maybe even understand what you read. i didn’t say they couldn’t claim it, i said it was a bar to claiming asylum, and it is. it is considered prima facia that what they came here for was not asylum. it is a bar to the claim, one they have great difficulty overcoming as the burden shifts completely onto them to prove their claim is not fraudulent.

Yeah, and if wishes were horses then beggars would ride. The fact remains, by law, they are supposed to either be in the country legally when they request asylum or do so at an official point of entry when they enter the country. Just because the Administration has cut them slack does not make the law void.
