Assassination Attempt on the Former President

Thus, using the rare case as a human shield to justify the general case.

Your camp (maybe not you specifically, I don’t know) tend to bristle at the suggestion of writing in those rare case as exceptions.

I would have no problem with adding underage girls to the exceptions along with health of the mother and rape victims. If someone’s birth control failed I would like to see that as an exception too. But that is going to be hard to prove when birth control is 99 percent effective.

I do find it abhorrent to use abortions in place of birth control.

Yet that is one of the arguments that many use, “birth control is not 100% effective”. I honestly wonder how many women get pregnant due to the failure of birth control then have an abortion. I would guess that number is a very small percentage of total abortions performed. I also wonder how many are due to severe birth defects that would lead to horrible suffering to both the baby and parents.

My views are because out of 3 pregnancies my mom had, I was the only one to survive to full term. My mom lost one before me and one after. Actually I was not expected to survive past 6 weeks, the pyloric valve (connects the stomach to small intestine) was essentially not there. I had a pyloric stenosis at 6 weeks old, the youngest to have AND survive the procedure at the time (1966).

So to me, every life is precious. I told both of my daughters that IF they got pregnant to come to me before they made any decisions. Thankfully it never happened, in fact my oldest is trying to get pregnant and having a hard time.

You are probably thinking of that and numerous other things. There are plenty to choose from.

There is not (and should not be) a lot of close supervision parenting going on with a 20-yr-old even if they are still living under your roof. Parenting of an adult child is as an advisor (when advise is solicited) and support when it is needed. That their kid did what he did, is not necessarily a reflection on their parenting. Note, that when several of his friends and acquaintances were interviewed, none of them suspected he would ever do such a thing. And he was almost certainly more communicative with them than he would have been with his parents.

You’re confused. Trump did not remove anyone’s rights … not even rights some people thought they had that weren’t actually rights.

Good thing nobody has done that then, isn’t it.

You sound like a good parent. I found myself in a situation where an immediate family member had to make that very decision. After much discussion, thought and consideration they decided what was best for them. I did not judge just was there to love and help them.

I can tell you it is only the rarest of woman who can have an abortion and not grieve or suffer mentally afterwards.

I wish we lived in a world where abortion was not needed but the real world is never so easy.

Why are you bringing abortion and the death penalty into a thread about the attempted assassination of Trump?

How about we all get back to the topic.

Sure, how about admonishing the people who brought the border and the Keystone pipeline into? Or are those folks special?:joy:

No need to lie. Women can still kill their children. There were more abortions after the SC sent the abortion question back to the states than before roe v wade was overturned.

Google is now showing that the the assissination attempt on Trump was, indeed, real:

Because they didn’t go on and on and on about it.

Please don’t misunderstand. I am judging their parenting skills, I am talking about them not recognizing something as mental health professionals. They lived in the same house for 20 years. They called the police when he was late getting home that day. They weren’t concerned the day before that there was something going on with him?
I am saying there is something wrong when licensed mental health professionals don’t recognize that person they are around quite a bit is about to go out and try to kill people.
Someone said they were the wrong kind of professionals. So maybe I am misinformed. I just think that whatever is being taught to these mental health providers/ counselors isn’t very effective considering the amount of issues these young people are having these days

Thanks. I try to be a good dad to my kids. Was not easy because my ex moved from Ohio to Florida knowing I didn’t have the money to fight the move. It wasn’t until I remarried that we could take her to court and get visitation. Thankfully we were financially able to afford to fly my kids up 2-3 times a year.

My kids learned pretty quick that I was not the only reason for the divorce and they also learned who the “adult” was. I NEVER badmouthed their mother in front of them, sadly my ex didn’t do the same and my kids called her out about it.

This is an interesting video. It was just found because it was shot by one of the victims.

It has to be Crooks. It shows how visible he was to anyone looking for a threat.

Trump had to see him.

Video Shows Individual Scurrying on Roof Minutes Before Donald Trump Assassination Attempt https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/07/31/video-shows-individual-scurrying-on-roof-minutes-before-donald-trump-assassination-attempt/

Yep, I posted that in the SecServ thread also.

Total incompetence.

Why not?

You want to see something else interesting in that video

-look to trump’s bottom left as the video highlights crooks running across the building.
-you can see at least one of the secret service agents begin moving fairly quickly toward the right, just past the stage bunting. He disappears behind trump for a second
-the video pans up for a second
-crooks reappears above the top of the building
-now to trump’s right and down (inside the bunting area) there appear 2 secret service agents
-those two agents appear pretty antsy to me.

They knew something was happening and didn’t get him off the stage.
