Don’t know. I would assume they are using a biometric lock or keypad. None of the SRO’s I asked would say.
When I was in high school, you could walk out into the parking lot and grab a gun out of the back window of any number of pick up trucks.

When I was in College, I brought my shotgun into a classroom (public speaking) to use as a prop for a speech about trap shooting. I started off by yelling “Pull!” swinging the gun over everyone’s head, and firing off a primer to get everyone’s attention.
I got a A on that speech. 
Today, I would have probably gotten 20 years.
