It is a prophylactic therapeutic. It seems to work pretty well for that.

At this point the Delta variant is still around and probably a much greater threat than Omicron. There is no evidence the vaccines prevent the spread of Omicron. I see no basis to use Omicron as a pretext to enforce vaccine mandates.
I recently became eligible for a booster. My guess is that the most that a booster may do is to delay the Omicron infection for a couple of months, and Omicron is likely to replace Delta within a couple of weeks. I see no reason to run out and get the booster.

As you point out, what basis is there to enforce vaccine mandates if the newest variant makes them obsolete?

The Delta variant is, as you acknowledge, still the greatest threat, both in prevalence and in severity. The booster increases your antibody response 9 to 14 times over the waning protection provided by your original two-shot regime against that variant. It actually provides more protection than you had acquired two weeks after your second shot. That it offers only modest protection from the Omicron variant, is immaterial to those facts. A wise person would focus their attention on not succumbing to the Delta virus, not on the apparently less lethal Omicron.

Chinese Wuhan Virus is not as big a threat as it was in the beginning. We understand it more and it is not an unknown virulent disease. We have to learn to live with it as we do other viral diseases.
Remember the Chinese Communist Party did not take a proactive stance. And remember which westerners helped fund gain of function research.

Just wondering how long it will be effective. Still waiting and yes wondering why therapeutic havenât came out, whats the delay, why havenât Brandon regime made it his priority?
The only thing that the Biden administration can do is speed up the paperwork loop for emergency declarations or FDA approval. As far as therapeutics, I read that they are still waiting on the pharma companies to finish their trials.
