I agree with you on contracts between government officials, evictions, and foreclosures. As well as permits (although you did not mention those I assume your argument encompasses those as well).

I cannot see myself agreeing on property rights as a whole though. Perhaps it is just my bias against broad-brushing. shrug

The issue with anarchism is it simply can’t exist, there has to be rules enforced by a governing body. if you look at the most free market system in the world crime even they have rules and regulation.

and the libertarian-right are the opposite they take the hard work labor of the poor and reward themselves. at the end of the day its the same authoritarianism the difference is the ideals of the person standing at the top.

society are a structured system you can’t break that, even today we are the most free we have ever been with mobility but the system still exists. there are those who are on top and those who are on the bottom.

So he was against private property, but also against the government owning everything. He wanted the collective public to have everything. One can also imply from this definition that Orwell was somewhat of an Anarchist, Minarchist, or Libertarian, though which side is a mystery, because right-libertarianism (the stereotypical libertarianism) favors private property, while left-libertarianism is more like a proletariat-style of thinking. (I.e. Anarcho-Communism).

I suppose if one had to choose, he would be Libertarian-left, but he was clearly against Communism.

If you read what they write, they very clearly favor the “the individual” as opposed to “the collective”.

They are breaking the law. Then again, there are too many laws, and you can’t blame the cops for enforcing them.

This reminds me of the poor guy that was killed by the NYPD in an incident over him selling loose cigarettes. When the thirst for government becomes so great that something like this happens, you’d think people would be compelled to pull back the reigns of government. You’d be wrong, though.

It’s your bias. You can’t recognize that property rights are just as “big government” as labor rights and environmental protection. That’s not your fault though. Even your opponents are too brainwashed to see the truth.

I agree the labels are worthless today, and you are spot on the big issue is globalization. China is a real problem that our politicians and businesses have completely sold out American manufacturing out to. They do the same thing in the I.T. industry. This country used to take pride in “Made in America”, and the base of the democrat party was the “Party of The Working Man”.

Fast forward to today and look at the inverse, hardly anyone cares about our American manufacturing, and if it was made in America or by some eight year old kid in China, getting whipped by “Big Boss Man No. 24” they could care less. We have free trade with countries who basically use slave trade. It’s not a sustainable model, and the gap will widen between the rich and the poor with the dissolving of the middle class.

Globalization is being vehemently contested in Europe atm.

What are you blabbering on (rather hatefully and sarcastically) about? Both are for Socialism, which has killed millions. You can’t pretend that just one of authoritarian and libertarian left haven’t had government intervention to manipulate the public, whether that’s been seizing property/money, or more extreme measures such as public executions. Both have, and both are morally wrong.
