Can we please get back to the topic of the sitting POTUS desperately needing more debate time?
What Trump wants and needs may not match reality.
Why yes, yes we can. And we canāt also discuss Joe desperately avoiding more debate time. news conferenced or questions.
Basement Joe. Or Hiden Biden.

Desperate is the side needing more than the historical norm. Three debates was enough for Reagan to obliterate Carter. If Trump is half the President he claims he is then 3 debates should be plenty to best a frail and diminished racist socialist.
Three is enough. But I think at least one should be held before voting starts. To me thatās just common sense.

Yet itās worked perfectly fine for 44 years having the debates start at the end of September/beginning of October.
Do you know what has changed? Iāll tell you. Early voting. Wouldnāt it be a good idea to debate BEFORE the election starts?

Will the Trump campaign ask for more and earlier VP debates between Harris and Pence (or Haley)?

Not a chance. VP debate in 2016 trended down in terms of drawing lower viewership than 2012.
Should ratings be the criterion used? What happened to the need to provide voters the opportunity to learn about the VP candidates?

It has been about 44 years since the tradition of VP debates began here in the USA.
Bob Dole vs Walter Mondale were the participants back then.
No reason to believe the one debate format reserved between VPās will be changing anytime soon and regardless of how they rate.
Ratings reveal data campaigns use to help know where best to put their funds towards. Then advertisers can justify the monies they want to charge
VPās are often selected to strengthen the ticket in their respective home states.
Yet there seems to be a push to break tradition by adding another presidential candidatesā debate and to bring forward the first one. Tradition can be cast aside under some circumstances it seems.

Yes, tradition is often trumped in extraordinary times.
I imagine in 2024 and assuming the virus is gone more traditional campaigning formats will again rule the roost.

Of course it was lower. It was Pence vs Kaine, talk about boring
Under those circumstances three VP candidatesā debates shouldnāt be a problem.

LOL, that is quite a leap you made here for 2024.
To me, one is more than enough for VPās now and always .
The top of the ticket is far more paramount to all concerned.
Frankly, I believe most people
I am referring to 2020. Just extrapolating the comments that the 2020 presidential candidatesā debates should be more than three and should have the first one earlier to expand the role of VP candidatesā debate.

To be clearer, Biden not potentially debating at all is what the Trump campaign is currently vetting with the undecided"s .
It is my opinion, the Trump campaign will in large part ignore Harris.
And Trump sticking to debating Biden three times himself is a solid strategy.

Seems like VP Pence is planning only for one debate (Salt Lake City Wednesday, October 7th) with his latest wanna be candidate.
See some comments yesterday including from our 48th and current vice president of the United States:
I am amazed he hasnāt suggested there should be more than one VP debate.
