Regardless of ones feelings of the president the other western nations (Especially Europe) have reacted in the same sluggish way, if one needs proof look at Italy and France. Great Britain just recently started addressing the situation as planes were still arriving at Heathrow airport from China and Italy as 100s were dying daily from those countries.
Is it a western problem because I am not seeing any European country who the World Health Organization has declared it the epicenter now surpassing China kicking it’s ass like South Korea and China did.

I’d have to agree. to me the biggest cultural shift was women in the workplace. Rosie the riveter was an icon which changed the roll of women in American society.
Vietnam, the civil rights movement, the hippy drug culture all overlapped. Vietnam brought them more into focus, but they would have happened regardless.

I’ve seen nothing in the virus to make it as the greatest crisis. If we tried to lock down for too long, it could certainly become a crisis, but that would be us.
The virus, or us…can’t really tell how bad.

Not yet and unless the mindless panic doesn’t take hold and worsen we’ll be just fine.
This is nothing compared to polio or smallpox and the human race survived just fine through many epidemics of both.
Fear and panic are far deadlier.

There are two parts to this question and that is perception and reality. There are too many that have bought into this hysteria being broadcast and are acting in a crazy manner I’ve never witnessed before. The reality is though, IMO…carry on with life but do it in a sensible manner, taking in fully, what’s going on around you and acting in a manner that minimizes your exposure.

The assassinations of Dr. King and Robert Kennedy in 1968 “woke” me as a high school senior to begin like many others my age to ask: “What the @$/& is going on here”?
Thanks for sharing what the sickness actually feels like, @Axxowiz!

It is on par with 911. Might end better or slightly worse.
Vietnam and Korea and even Cuban Missile crisis were much more dire.

Way too early to tell just how big a crisis it is going to be at this point - we are in the process of getting through it right now. It will be easier to gauge just how big a crisis it was once we are on the other side (however long that takes).
