They have more than adequate storage for the bodies.

They have more than adequate ability to bury those who go unclaimed.

Daily deaths have already leveled off and are falling as are new hospitalizations.

Things are now going so well in NYC they have over 4,000 hospital beds that aren’t even being utilized and both the mayor and governor are bragging about how well they’ve handled it.

You keep whining about a problem that doesn’t exist.

Have you been tracking NY lately? They have had 15-20k new infections in each of the last two days. They have just over 180k now and will probably jump over 200k tomorrow, and it’s rising. Not leveling out.

Fatalities have been in the 700s for four or five days, so it COULD be leveling off. It sure as hell ain’t enough to make a declarative statement though, that’s for sure.

“New infections” doesn’t equate to new hospitalizations and deaths.

The deaths have leveled off and the hospitalizations are falling according to both Cuomo and Deblasio.

On 4-6 there were 5,466 new cases reported.

On 4-10 there were 853 new cases reported.

A decrease of 640%

Hospital discharges continue outpacing new hospitalizations so the hospitalization rate is also steadily decreasing.

We all knew there was a spike in deaths coming, we’re past that peak and hopefully there won’t be a new surge.

Daily deaths peaked at 459 on April 7, on April 10, 199 deaths. A decrease of over 50%.

Hospitalizations peaked on April at, 1634. On April 10 it dropped to 934, a drop of 42%.

There are over 4,000 hospital beds available.

See, theres a couple problems with your statements, first, your link clearly says “Due to delays in reporting,
recent data are incomplete” - and while your site claims there were 291 deaths on the 9th, Cuomo said there were 799 deaths on the 9th.

NYC may have close to 90% of the total statewide, that doesn’t mean they have 90% of the current or recent daily death toll.

It has expanded from NYC across the rest of the state.

Any facility designed for human use has a limit of users at which the ability of the facility to function as intended becomes compromised, and the quality of life of those using the facility degrades - water, fire, sewage, transport and rubbish removal services, policing, housing etc. We can judge the number of people who can safely use an elevator, live in a tenement building, based on actuarial analysis. I don’t see why we cannot calculate safe limits to the loadings put on a single city’s services , and require city administrators to keep loadings under those limits.
I don’t know what the limits will prove to be, but it seems odd that we can legislate maximum safe legal loadings in all sorts of areas, and enforce those, but cannot do the same for permanent city residents and businesses.

Obviously if we are told to stay away 6 feet from people and to practice social distancing being packed in a sardine can with other people is the exact opposite of it. Not sure how they can deal with it but yes it increases your chances of getting the virus it doesn’t take much to get infected if you are around and infected person.

A new study shows it stays in the air 13 feet away from and infected person which I believe 100%

That being said, I’ve missed the subway everywhere I’ve lived since.

More people die from auto accidents than mass transit. You are seldom in more danger than when driving.

It made sense to me. State and federal governments create laws that restrict the commercial and residency interests of individual citizens “for the common good” - Where you can set up a business, and the health standards and capacity of the premises. But they allow themselves to expand to and beyond a point where citizen’s health and safety become compromised and endangered.
