“New infections” doesn’t equate to new hospitalizations and deaths.
The deaths have leveled off and the hospitalizations are falling according to both Cuomo and Deblasio.
On 4-6 there were 5,466 new cases reported.
On 4-10 there were 853 new cases reported.
A decrease of 640%
Hospital discharges continue outpacing new hospitalizations so the hospitalization rate is also steadily decreasing.
We all knew there was a spike in deaths coming, we’re past that peak and hopefully there won’t be a new surge.
Daily deaths peaked at 459 on April 7, on April 10, 199 deaths. A decrease of over 50%.
Hospitalizations peaked on April at, 1634. On April 10 it dropped to 934, a drop of 42%.
There are over 4,000 hospital beds available.
