You are right. I went to college in the sixties. And while CRT first started showing up in the early 70s, the Marxists didn’t really take over the universities until the 80s.

It’s not me who makes CRT sinister, its the believers of the theory who are doing that.

No it’s not. My parents, my teachers, my friends, and later my co-workers, called me smart all my life.

Oh, and @WuWei did not say @Jezcoe was “being smart,” which I concede can be code for “smart ass,” he said he “is a smart guy.” Do you have reason to think otherwise?

Just so everyone knows…. I don’t care what is said about me on the internet.

One more time, I’m not talking about the definition, academic or otherwise. I’m talking about how it is being interpreted and used by leftists to vilify whites and drive a racial wedge though our society.

That goes to show, you are a smart guy.

The thing is that the part about it “vilifying whites” isn’t in CRT.

It is about systems. Not individuals.

What part of “used by leftists” did you not understand?

It isn’t “used by leftists”.

The claim of vilifying whites isn’t coming from the left.

It most certainly is.

No. It isn’t.

It is a claim that is amplified for the culture war.

Now you’re beginning to get it.

Sorry.

Amplified by the right for the culture war.

If it wasn’t coming from the left, there would be nothing to amplify.

There are some idiots on the left.

They say stupid things.

The label of Critical Race Theory has been applied to what they say because it sounds spooky.

The claim is made that Critical Race Theory is being taught in schools. (It isn’t )

Culture war.

Rinse.

Repeat.

Who set up the systems and why did they do it the way they did?

“Some idiots on the left”. Understatement of the year!

It isn’t. CRT has been around for decades. It’s been discussed in many schools in some form for years. It became an issue when conservatives decided it was. It wasn’t a means to “vilify whites” or “drive a racial wedge through society” until conservatives decided that’s what they wanted to think. That’s the conservative definition of CRT. Hence the “conservative CRT” definition I gave earlier.

No different than conservative versions of the progressive education movement, sex ed, civil rights, gender identity, etc. All “interpretations” to scare the base that have no basis in what was the original intention.

People will disagree. They’ve been told to disagree. They’ve bought it. The conservative versions are all they know and all they care about. There is no desire to critically assess the origins and intentions behind any of these concepts.
