That scripture is about judging the person.

It does not suggest that we are supposed to shrug and dismiss some evil act.

A person and his actions are separate things. There is no conflict to say that what a person does is evil, but still recognize him as a child of God.

The misuse of the “judge not” passage is far too often used as an attempt to tell someone opposed to an evil action to sit down and shut up.
