What I don’t get is how editors, producers, directors, supervisors, and content management personnel all felt that was a perfectly fine thing to say.

Criticism is always fair game to anyone who serves in an administration or is in office. What Bee said was not criticism, it was unhinged and vulgar.

And she apologized for it. Doesn’t change the fact that without Trumps creepy sexual obsession with his daughter the comment would never have been made.

Comedians get their material from the words and actions of others.

No idea. But comedy is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I don’t feel the term is appropriate but neither am I going to lose any sleep over it.

Get back to me when you hold Trump to the same standards as everyone’s else. He is setting a tone where personal insults are common place. He even insulted American POWs in the most disgusting way possible but he gets a pass from conservatives. So please spare me the fake outrage about what a comedian said.

OH I definitely dispute that!! Maybe in liberal elitist circles but not your average “normal” hard working American who actually knew anything about Fluke demanding they pay for her birth control. I’m sure she was called a lot worse then what Rush called her, I know I call her worse!

I heard Rush’s comment “live” and I knew he would get blowback on that one but I disagreed with him. Fluke presented herself and her college female classmates as women demanding payment in the form of free birth control for their sexual conduct. There is a different name for that and Rush used the wrong one.

Fluke (rhymes with truck) is a disgrace to the female gender.

It isn’t free, it’s part of the health insurance they pay for. Also, that health insurance covers erectile dysfunction medications to help men with their sexual conduct. Not much complaint there.

Also, i’m not certain but I seem to recall that female faculty and staff did have contraception covered under their insurance.

Why would they just delete the tweets? Some may have, but those pictures just showed kids that had crossed alone and the admin was looking for their parents or relatives to join them as quickly as possible.

My daughters did not sit on my lap when they were 15 nor have I ever said that I would date my daughters if they were not my daughters. Those sort of thoughts just never occur to me nor any right minded father. Nor have I ever mused or considered if it is wrong to be more sexually attracted to my daughters than my wife. Depends on what you mean by, “ok” I guess. Bee called a woman a ■■■■■ people got upset, she apologized and she still has her job. Rush called a woman a slut, people got upset, he apologized and he still has his job.

I recall there was a long debate about what constitutes an apology when Ingraham “apologized” to Hogg. Let’s take a look at Samantha Bee’s apology compared to Ingraham.

First off, Bee apologized the next day when people started complaining. This was before advertisers threatened to leave. Ingraham apologized later, after advertisers threatened to leave.

Let’s look at the wording:

Ingraham: Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.

Bee: “I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.

Which apology is better?

Btw, I’ll be upfront that Bee used far harsher language but Ingraham was attacking a child.

Apologies came after the threats of sponsors dropping. It wasn’t preemptive. Nice try though.
