Her district lies in the eastern edge of the Bronx and the middle of Queens.
Sure, her office was 1 block from the train station, but being there is no direct line between those points, it would probably take you at least 1-1/2 hours (maybe more) to travel by subway between the major centers of the district, as opposed to a 20 minute drive across the Throgs Neck Bridge.

It seems Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez practices the exact opposite of what she preaches.
Her campaign headquarters was only a one minute walk from the Metro train station, yet the Metro was only used 52 times. Uber, Lyft and other car services were used 1,049 times.

To be fair, the subway doesn’t go everywhere, so despite a station being nearby it doesn’t mean that it makes sense to take the subway. (BTW, in NYC it’s Subway, not Metro)

They used airlines 66 times and Amtrak only 18 times.

The airport is closer than Penn Station and there are more flights than trains and they’re quicker. I’m kind of surprised they took Amtrak at all.

In essence, you’re saying it would have been inconvenient for her to have done what she is telling us to do. Of course it would have. Let me ask again, would not it have been worth the inconvenience to her to help prevent the world from ending in 12 years?

I’m not defending her so much as just pointing out what I see as flaws in your argument.

I think she’s probably just a flash in the pan and she will be pretty much forgotten in a year or so.

Unbelievable that someone can run on “green” and there are people who defend her against her own personal proclivity towards gas guzzling.

Also, if you wonder why there is a conservative obsession with her, go to MSNBC and do a search on her. The left is enamored with her, though apparently embarrassed by it and blaming their own obsession on conservatives.
