Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped the American-capitalist system on social media this week; saying the US is a “brutal, barbarian society” for most working-class people.
“Everyone, we need to expand our public healthcare systems. Drop the Medicare age to zero… When there’s 10 million people that have just been suspended or laid-off, that’s 10 million people whose health insurance is now imperiled,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
“Healthcare is a human right… Everyone should be able to have dignified access to healthcare… This is supposed to be the richest society in the world, what this crisis is showing us is that it’s only a rich society for a very small amount of people. It’s a brutal, barbarian society for a vast majority of working class Americans,” she added.
