Children of that age follow what their parents believe in. I somehow doubt an 8 year old had considered the political nuances of republicans vs democrats and come to the conclusion Her ideology is with the right.

there are also kids this age who spend many hours a week learning lines, acting in plays, theater, costume… they love it. this is similar. i bet she loves the reactions she gets. it wouldnt be funny if it were forced. it would also be obvious
