AOC’s squad of four should listen to Bernadette Lancelin: worry about America’s children!

Flat rate income tax. Or sales tax. My point is: why don’t you include Republicans? They have surrendered the argument. Shouldn’t they be targets of your ire as well?

What do you mean by a “flat rate”, and what is the definition of “income”?

The Republicans did not give us the 16th Amendment, did not give us the unconstitutional “Temporary Victory Tax” of 1943, and did not give us the thieving Federal Reserve Act which to this very day is used to plunder the wealth produced by America’s labor and industries.

In regard to a “sales tax” , that is getting more in line with a tax plan designed for good government, but it too, is far from our Constitution’s original tax plan which was carefully designed to bind the hands of government and prevent the kind of politically inspired tax tyranny we now live under.

“Of all the contrivances for cheating the laboring class of mankind, none have been more effectual than that which deludes them with paper money. This is the most effectual of inventions to fertilize the rich man’s field by the sweat of the poor man’s brow.”_____ Daniel Webster.

The thing about the US is - the US is developed enough as a nation to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. There are plenty of resources to watch out for all kids who may be within our borders - and we should. One measure of the morality of a nation is how well it protects children, who are not developed enough to take care of themselves yet. And the US has the resources to be able to handle the needs of each of these kids.

Adults are a different story. Once you have reached adulthood, it is assumed that you will begin pulling your own weight. But, for kids - who in many cases are below legal hiring age - they are dependent upon the adults in their life to watch out for them.

The more people lump socialism and communism together the more it is obvious they have no clue what they are talking about.

By all means, define those two terms and explain why they are grouped together. It seems those that use the terms have no idea what they mean.

The US this, and the US that.

It appears your moral compass has been corrupted to such a degree that you are incapable to make the distinction between charitable giving, and tax tyranny used to confiscate the property of one individual, which is then transferred by government to another for their personal economic needs.

Socialist democrats running for office will promise food on the table, free public housing, health care for all, guaranteed income, free college tuition, and other niceties by taxing the so called rich; and if by chance they ever do gain political power because of such promises made, their socialist iron-fisted dependency will enslave the very fools who elected them.

What they have in common is, the force of government is used to take the property of one individual which is then transferred by the hand of government to another individual for their personal economic needs.

Rights associated with property ownership are not respected under communism or socialism.

“The property which every man has in his own labor, as it is the original foundation of all other property, so it is the most sacred and inviolable. The patrimony of the poor man lies in the strength and dexterity of his own hands; and to hinder him from employing this strength and dexterity in what manner he thinks proper, without injury to his neighbor, is a plain violation of this most sacred property.” ___ Butchers’ Union Co. v. Crescent City Co., 111 U.S. 746 (1884)

If that is the issue you wish to debate, shouldn’t this thread be about taxation vs. charitable giving rather than the needs of kids?

Did you not post about being “… able to handle the needs of each of these kids”?

The liberty to fail or succeed at one’s own hand is a PROGRESSIVE`S nightmare and not the American Dream

False. In socialism private property exists. The government owns the means of production. I have yet to hear any major Democrat candidate advocate for full government ownership of means of production. No candidate has advocated for communism either.
