But in the long run, market keeps growing no matter who’s in charge.

Millions of people are not in it for the long run. They will be retiring soon. If the market tanks, they will be in trouble.

For those about to retire I’d recommend possibly putting your money in an annuity to minimize risk no matter who’s president.

I don’t have more than 20 percent or so of my money in the market. Cut way back on my market money when i retired.

Retired about 7 years ago.

I hope to retire sometime during this administration. I can’t see how a huge tax increase and massive re-regulation does not have a negative effect at the worst possible time. I will probably put a big chunck of change into something really reliable. Not sure what that will be.

Defensive changes to a portfolio motivated by political winds is usually not wise.

The COVID virus and subsequent fallout has the markets walking on eggshells. My wealth management guy emails me weekly and we talk about opportunities and strategies every other week. Like many with retirement investment portfolios that lost money we’re watching things closely. So far things are positive. If ‘Ol Joe manages to win the WH he’ll still have the COVID virus affecting everyone and everything. If he pushes for raising taxes on corporations and on middle class earnings, he and his liberal-socialist handlers could very well tank the economy! But, it will of course be the fault of Donald Trump!

Generally, you can identify a question by that squiggly thing at the end. It’s looks kinda like this. ?
