It is tough because Americans are selfish.

Despite no social distancing mandates aside from bans on large gatherings (>50), Swedes managed to get to a level where they have only 30% of the interactions they had pre-pandemic.

Two reasons for this:

People support and trust their government
People trust the science

That doesn’t happen here.

AstraZeneca is doing its job. The vaccine will be developed when it is developed. There’s nothing wrong with Trump expressing hope that a vaccine will be available in short order. It’s why part of operation light speed includes the preproduction of vaccines currently in the third phase of trials for quick distribution. Kamala throws shade on any vaccine developed before the election, thus putting American lives in danger. Tell your woman to bite her tongue and this sort of thing can be avoided.

It hasn’t been shown to be true at all. Not even remotely. This is next level gaslighting. Her actual words have been quoted to you multiple times and you continue to repeat something that isn’t true and that she never said. It is telling that this is where we are though. Nothing else is sticking to Biden/Harris so last ditch efforts are to play pretend.

I really don’t care about Sweden even though they went with the mass infection apparoach…I’m looking here at the United States.
We have failed in every way. I don’t like using this term, but so-called 3rd world/developing nations have been way more successful in combating this and keeping their citizens safe. For lack of a better word…we suck.

If she had actually done what you claimed, you would be plastering her direct quote all over this thread in triumph. But you aren’t. Because those words you’ve made up in your accusations against her don’t exist.

Trump was absolutely throwing that out there to try and influence election outcomes. The way he presented it even hinted as such.

And there is absolutely something wrong with Trump expressing hope a vaccine will be ready by October/November…because everything he says is political and places huge political strain on the scientific teams producing the vaccine.

You think the 9 pharma joint statement and Moncef’s statement happened in a vacuum?

No they happened for the express purpose of pushing back on the political pressure Trump was putting on them…officials from the FDA and from pharma have even stated this.

Trump needs to keep his mouth shut on timelines and let his scientific teams and orgs do their jobs.

Any accountability discussions can take place in private…just like in any business.
