You weren’t offering an opinion on anything about the strike, or the union demands. You were just doing a cheap drive-by to make a snide comment directed at the generic other side. You have a bad habit, like a lot of the posters here, of spending the majority of your time throwing shade at the other side, instead of actually engaging in thoughtful, spirited debate.

So did you see the comments here?

Save your cheap questioning, I’m focused on your juvenal drive by comment.

Don’t try to be droll Guilds, you are another one who focuses more on snide drive-by comments than actually engaging in spirited debate.

Have you seen this thread? The Biden/Harris bashing about this? You’re coming in now to say it’s not about partisan politics now that it’s over? Jesus.
TBH, it wold never have occurred to me that this issue was political, had I not read the replies here blaming Biden.

The limit of politics in this issue concerning Biden is his policy choice concerning the use of Taft Hartley, and the apparent lack of engagement by his administration prior to the strike. Those are valid items for policy debate on this board. And would make a good discussion. You comment wasn’t a discussion, or a policy comment. It was really nothing more than sticking your tongue out at “righties.” And now you want to point at bad behavior from the other side as if it excuses your bad behavior. And there is bad behavior from both sides here. But their behavior doesn’t excuse yours, and yours doesn’t excuse theirs.
Seeing a lot of anti Biden blaming which doesn’t reference Taft-Hartley. Good night.

I think the frustration is singling out this one poster for making it partisan when you admit it’s been going on in this thread. And if posts that aren’t a discussion or comments on policy are going to be discouraged…this forum is going to have to change drastically. The memes junkies alone.

I’m a MOD and he got my attention with his drive by. You get attention, so do others here on both sides. If I’ve been posting in the topic I won’t do anything more than express my displeasure with what I am seeing. No deletes, no silencing, no suspending or banning. But if I’m just monitoring the topic, which is what I do most of the time, then I will take Mod action. And honestly I don’t care which side the party divide the guilty party is on. Now run along, I have things to do off the board.

Biden and Harris didn’t flinch in their support for the ILA’s endeavor. Federal action was instanteously off the table, despites enormous political pressures to do something. Meanwhile:
“I think it’s totally unacceptable to try to intentionally deprive people of the supplies. They need to be able to rebuild their homes when they have been displaced at a natural disaster,” DeSantis argued.
In an X/Twitter post, the governor stated that guard members will be deployed to ports affected by the strike “to maintain order and, where possible, resume operations at ports which are otherwise shut down.”
I’m sure plenty of the longshoremen will cover their eyes and pretend they didn’t see. They’ll keep supporting a governor that blames them for the inconvenience and undermined their strike with the national guard.
Couldn’t be me.
The president of the ILWA reportedly makes $900k/ year. Huh?

He’s very proud of shutting down the country.

But you are conveniently fomenting a narrative that has nothing to do with the mobilization of the FLNG. Great job. You might be ( but likely not) surprised to know FLNG personnel work side by side with longshoremen routinely for relief efforts rebuilding communities wrecked by storms. The Gov isn’t ordering Guard personnel to be scabs. He acknowledges their union, he doesn’t want chaos. Read his statement then go grovel in disgust.

It’s going to be a bit more than that.

There is nothing envious in that post.
You suggested that the dock workers getting higher pay will result in the rest of us paying more for stuff.
I pointed out that the executives of these ports over the last ten years have seen their pay sky rocket, and wondered if you share a concern about their pay affecting the cost of our goods.
