Lat time I checked a couple of years ago the number was under 200.

With more than 200 million police stops annually that’s a tiny fraction of stops resulting in same.

Extrajudicial killings are cool as long as it falls within an acceptable statistical range.

So if a killing is in self defense or to protect other potential victims, you call it "extrajudicial?

Or is that intended to get people all riled up and ready to protest?

The man was entering his own house.

All other assumptions made in the scenario are silly.

Everything is a slippery slope. Except extrajudicial killing.

I think it safe to say that everyone in this thread wants the cop to be innocent. But not everyone will admit that suspicion is strongly justified by some fishy circumstances.

It’s only a “slippery slope” if the killing is not justifiable/lawful or the laws and enforcement of same allow for legalized murder by police.

That is why every killing by a PO needs to be thoroughly investigated and those that are unlawful need to be aggressively pursued and prosecuted.

It’s also why all killings by PO’s should be investigated by a higher outside authority so we can have confidence in the investigation.

They screwed this one up by not immediately referring the investigation to the BCI.

There are two possible reasons if that seems too many.\

1. Cops are out of control and stopping people for no reason.
2. A society that does not restrain itself must rely on force to maintain peace and order.

attempted stop… Obviously the deputy was in close pursuit or he’d have not been there to shoot him entering the dwelling would he?

Logically one of two things happened
Either the deputy had attempted to stop him
or
the deuty simply decided “ooh look a black person moving toward a house. I think I’ll shoot him.”

None of those are excusable in my mind but it is not a significant number of such deaths.

Tell that to 200 families.

So, to be fair, I don’t really care about guilt or innocence. Those speak to individual cases, only, and only also after the damage is done.

I want cops restrained long, long before this ■■■■ can get to court.

There are two possible reasons if that seems too many.\

1. Cops are out of control and stopping people for no reason.
2. A society that does not restrain itself must rely on force to maintain peace and order.

3. Cops have piss poor training.

4. Cop suck at de-escalation

5. Cops have irrational fear of POC

A guy waving a gun around out the window as he’s driving is committing an aggravated assault with each person he muzzles and terrorizing everyone who observes it.
