Gang related shootings have no political value, hence they are virtually ignored!

To take that one more step, any weapon (never mind firearm) that is used to assault someone becomes, by definition, an assault weapon.

In the past I would have liked to see certain guns banned from easy sale and made accessible under certain conditions. I have come to accept that America will not allow restrictions. That means a tiny percentage of unhinged individuals will use them to commit mass casualty events.
But the point is that they can.
Someone with an M1A and being half competent can take out just as many people with it as someone with an AR.
Like I said. Pilot. Not plane.

Why do you think countries like Australia, Canada, European nations and Japan have almost no mass casualty gun related deaths?
Why? What specific feature of the AR-15, AK, or Tavor makes them more “dangerous” than any other semi automatic firearm?
Because their people gave up their right to keep and bear arms.
Liberty is a messy place sometimes. It requires a disciplined and moral people.
These mass shootings were much more rare in the 1970s and 1980s than they are now.
What changed? You could get Garands and Mini-14s dirt cheap back then.

Yes- this my point. We have made the acceptable tradeoff for mass casualty gun deaths for the freedom for the vast populace to purchase these guns.
Fine. I accept the tradeoff.
What a wonderful world we live in. Conservatives consider gender pronouns scandalous and use them as pejoratives. A part of speech makes people uncomfortable. Good times.

Might want to put down that broad ass brush.
I use and respect people’s pronouns so long as they are respectful towards me. I find it kind of ridiculous on a personal level, but so long as they are nice and respectful then I will honor their wishes. I expect the same in return.
Respect is a two way street.
It’s a thing.
But these are not the majority of firearms deaths. Not by a long shot. The majority in this country is one gangbanger shooting another gangbanger with a cheap black market pistol.

Because we live in America.

Absolutely correct.
That’s because we have a Constitution in place to prevent the government from disarming the population.
Sad to say. But it looks that way.
John Adams knew it over 200 years ago. He knew that the Constitution would only work as long as society maintained some basic level of morality. “It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
No sane person with even a basic level of morality would have pull off any of the mass shootings we’ve seen.
As our society continues to degrade, more and more people will cross the line. The chart @Guilds posted in reply 108 shows the trajectory.

So you’re OK using someone’s preferred pronoun? If so, I apologize. I would say you’re the exception.

Not true.
Absurd. He only killed 5.

Come on. You’re watching it unfold in real time. What sane person pops off and kills a bunch of people they don’t even know? And yeah, most of them bought their guns legally at the corner store.
