Cool story, bro.
Standing up for the preservation our Constitutional Rights is not irrational, but trying to remove them because of your feelings of insecurity is.
CaughtInTheMiddle: MoleUK: CassandraJoe:Why is this news?
Because it’s the worst mass shooting since 11 days ago.
when did you guys have your last mass shooting? a decade ago?
No fair they have rational gun laws.
So does the US, and a lot of irrational ones as well.
The 2a and 3a were knee jerk reactions by the founding fathers to actions taken by the British.
If the British hadn’t taken those action, those admend. wouldn’t be there.
If the 3a disappeared tomorrow, no one would notice, or care.
The 2a is what’s over left of a misguided rationale by a bunch backwater hicks, being maintained by the same mentality. In the opinion of many in this county.
If that is your opinion, Amend it out of existence. But until such time, it remains in full effect.
If we had mandatory licensing of all firearms like we should, that shooter last night would have had his guns take when police questioned him preciously about his mental health.
Under California law both of those provisions were in effect. So was a ban on his extended magazines.
Samm:Shooting up a crowd of complete strangers is crazy. It is obviously a mental health problem.
Ah.
So Islamic terrorism is a mental health issue.
I do actually think that’s true.
Don’t confuse mental health issues with political and religious ideology.
actually, the crazy part is the founders made a mistake (which was understandable at the time) and now someone dies more often than there are hours in a day.
if ISIS killed 26 US citizens per day we’d be nuking people.
No we wouldn’t.
Well, you know sneaky, that’s how you really judge a free society…how much the government LET’S us do vs what is deemed safe.
Maybe they want the government to ban the phase “hold my beer and watch this!”

Same old BS. you forgot the one where everyone would be safer if ever American carried a gun.

What did I post there that was not factual?
Or does BS mean something else to you?
If you are a CCW holder it is illegal to carry in a bar or consume alcohol while carrying. I’m sure it’s the same for off duty LEO’S . If there had been 6 armed good guys in the place there would have been a much different outcome.
Has it been discussed how at the last two mass shootings we have lost law enforcement officers? It’s not just the innocents now but also the responders who are dying. Things are escalating.

That’s not an escalation, that’s a happenstance.
We don’t sell hand grenades to the public because we are afraid of those inanimate objects. We do it because we know it’s not a good idea to freely trust people with them out in society.
How many mass murders so far this year with hand grenades?
But you continue to cling to that nice little straw man you like to troll out about how I and others are just afraid of inanimate objects.
Hand grenades are not “arms”, they are explosives.
Did you not know that or were just trying to be snarky?
I’m putting my money on both.
“Nothing to be done about it. Eat your peas, libs”
When you give up your 4th amendment, I’ll gladly give up the 2nd.
If you can trust police with arms, you should be able to trust them to protect your privacy.

I’ll take that. But I’m sure the gunnutters won’t.

4th? How about the 1st. Certainly we can trust the government to allow us to speak critically of it.
If the 4th goes away, police can raid your home if you speak ill of them, hence the first is also gone.
See how this works now?
