Another guns drawn raid of the home of a pro life activist

This is getting ridiculous folks…This is the story of Paul Vaughn of Tennessee. A year ago he and 10 other ProLife activists committed the sin of praying and singing hymns at an abortion clinic. That all happened in March of 2021. “Several of the activists were arrested on the day of the blockade, after reportedly successfully preventing abortions from taking place at the clinic for most of the day, but police reportedly released these activists later in the day after they posted bail for misdemeanor charges, the pro-life news outlet Live Action reported. Vaughn told The Daily Signal on Friday that he was not arrested on the day of the blockade.” FBI Arrests Father of 11 in Front of His Children for Pro-Life Work

Any crimes that were committed were misdemeanors, dealt with locally, everyone went on with his or her life.

Fast forward to last week…

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation this week arrested a pro-life father of 11 children, charging him with “conspiracy against rights secured by the FACE Act, and committing FACE Act violations.”

Paul Vaughn of Centerville, Tennessee, told The Daily Signal in a Friday phone interview that FBI came to the door of his home, “guns pointed at the door, banging on the house, yelling and screaming, ‘Open up. FBI,’ that kind of thing. When I opened the door and saw the guns pointed at me, I asked them what they wanted, who they were looking for, and they said they wanted me.”

“I had kids in the yard walking out to get in the car to go to school, I was about to take them to school, and other kids in the house,” he continued. “So seeing that the easiest path to de-escalation was me in handcuffs, I stepped outside and put an end to the ranting and the banging and the yelling.”

Sound familiar…Mark Houck’s story come to mind?

How come our “Justice Department”, it’s even hard to describe it as that under the leadership of the disgusting Merrick Garland, has time to dredge up year and a half old cases that either resulted in no charges locally or at most misdemeanors, but it just can’t seem to find any of the arsonists and vandals from Jane’s Revenge that are burning buildings down. “Not a single arrest has been made in the more than a dozen attacks on pro-life organizations across the country claimed by left-wing pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge…Jane’s Revenge has claimed responsibility for at least 18 arson and vandalism attacks on crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) and other faith-based organizations throughout the U.S. since the May 2 leak of the Supreme Court draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade.” Zero arrests in at least 17 Jane's Revenge attacks on pro-life organizations | Fox News

"Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Sep 21, 2022 / 13:45 pm

“After the pro-life pregnancy center he runs outside Buffalo was firebombed and vandalized on June 7, James Harden gave investigators video-surveillance footage of the attack, along with what he described as a “mountain of other evidence.”…Now, frustrated that no arrests have been made in the case after more than three months, he wants the footage back.,“It’s Day 106. There have been no arrests. There have been over 50 attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers. And our patience is at an end,” Harden, president and CEO of CompassCare Pregnancy Services, told CNA on Wednesday.” Pregnancy clinic firebombed in ‘Jane’s Revenge’ attack sues police for surveillance footage | Catholic News Agency

I guess what, firebombs are cool but hymns and prayers just can’t be allowed?

Now I know where this will go…

“Is this the outrage of the day there Rodeo…You sure get mad easy…!”

So let me just answer that question this way…Yes I’m outraged. My question for all of you smartest guy in the room Joe Biden voters is this…Why aren’t you? You think it’s a healthy state for our Republic to be in when law enforcement officers are being sent to private homes with guns at dawn handcuffing people who all seem to be on one side of the issue?

I keep saying ya’ll need to be careful what you wish for…You just might get it.

Ok. With Vaughn, what exactly are we upset about?

That the arrest was made at all? An excessively use of force? What?

Clearly more information is needed but his arrest was one of 11 made in connection with a effort to block the entrance of an abortion clinic in 2021. The DOJ thinks they have a case and will now need to prove it.

Yes the excessive use of force…

If there was a serious case here why wasn’t it presented last March when the original event actually happened. Exact same thing that happened to Houck…no charges more than a year ago and now the justice department of sending three carloads of armed agents to the guy’s home. And coincidentally they are all on the same side of the abortion issue…and people actually burning down buildings (that seems like a kind of serious FACE act violation don’t you think?) aren’t getting the same treatment?

Is there nothing more significant than a year and a half old prayer vigil for the Joe Biden Merrick Garland justice department to come after.

Why is this ok with you?

The indictment further alleges that on March 5, 2021, the 11 individuals, aided and abetted by one another, used force and physical obstruction to injure, intimidate, and interfere with employees of the clinic and a patient who was seeking reproductive health services.

Women used to have the right to get an abortion in Tennessee. If the allegations above are true, this is a pretty clear cut violation of the FACE act; interfering with the exercise of a right.

They ■■■■■■ around, now they find out

So why wasn’t he arrested in March of 2021 if he did all those things?

I’m thinking there is some hyperbole and ■■■■■■■■ coming from the govt in these arrests.

You say you’re upset about “excessive use of force”, but it seems you’re more concerned about why he was arrested at all. Which is fine, but we’ll need to learn more about this case in order to know why these 11 were arrested.

Dunno. Takes time to build a case? Justice never sleeps?

I don’t care, so long as the statute of limitations doesn’t expire

Maybe. We’ll need to wait and see.

Good question. The DOJ must think there was enough cause to make the arrests now.

I don’t buy the notion that multiple agents = excessive force. I mean, if you Google the term it talks about violence.

So sitting on the floor signing hymns is violence? Who did they assault specifically?

They are using the Dodd decision to now use these tactics on these old instances that were dealt with locally and it’s not a good look.

Sorry not buying it.

The Joe Biden Merrick Garland justice department seems to be very found of guns drawn raids on Joe Biden’s political opponents…

And you guys like to call “ultra Maga’s” the fascists.

The same people who tried to claim they try to minimize the use of force and make their actions the least intrusive when they were defending the MaraLago raid are knocking on the doors of the homes of guys like this Vaughn guy…I heard an interview with Mr Vaughn and his lawyer saying one of the guys with guns held his children at bay…if you click on the link you can see the video his wife took. No explanation of why they were there.

How’s about a phone call to his lawyer “hey we need to talk to your client there’s an important legal issue but have no desire to upset his family…can we have him at our office at 10 AM on Tuesday?” Houck was willing to come in but they opted to bang on his door with rifles too…

This guns drawn at dawn ■■■■ is ridiculous.

I don’t either. From Vaughn’s own account of the arrest, there’s nothing about excessive force … unless you think multiple agents with guns is excessive.

Ok. But we don’t know enough about the DOJ’s case to make that determination one way or the other.

I don’t know. We’ll have to wait for the indictment and/or trial.

Wrong. FACE act is a federal law. The feds prosecute it.

That’s only one account of what happened. We don’t know exactly what occurred that day.

I do think we should start body camming the feds, though.

I do…and I find it remarkable that the same libs who don’t think citizens should own high powered weapons and who have in the past argued that police should be de-militarized are just fine with multiple heavily armed agents arriving at a citizens home in the presence of his family to cart that citizen off over a year and a half old prayer vigil that local authorities saw fit, in Vaughn’s case, to file no charges.

That’s not at all weird to you?

Title 18 sec 1507 of US code. It is illegal with the intent of influencing any judge to picket or parade in or near a residence occupied or used by such judge ….

Seems to be a very similar law. Has the FBI came storming, guns drawn, at the residence of these people?

Or is the FBI being used for personal ideological purges?
