Another Farewell

This man wasn’t a household name, but was an interesting human being nonetheless:

Taurean Blacque

Saw he passed away in one of those actors who passed recently topics on YouTube. Best known as Detective Neil Washington on Hill Street Blues, Mr. Blacque was also a man who persisted in his quest to adopt children and was an advocate for adoption services.

He was a spokesman for adoption and, OIRC, he remained a friend to fellow performer Kiel Martin, who played his tHill Street Blues partner J.D. LaRie until Martin passed from lung cancer around 1990.

The two friends are eternally reunited. Rest In Peace, job well done.

Hill Street Blues was can’t miss TV back in college. And “J.D.” has been gone for over 30 years? Damn.

Yep. Got lung cancer from cigarettes and cocaine usage, died in his 40s.

Hill Street Blues was my favorite show back in the 80s.
