I wouldn’t think so. That was a particularly bad choice considering the fame of the book.
It raises the question of whether any teacher should have the option of selecting any book for their class they want, or whether it is actually “banning” if some committee makes the book selection instead of the teacher.
However, that book was a particularly ill chosen book to raise the issue over.

Why?

It’s not banning.

I wouldn’t be talking about others lying after typing that post.

The rest of the story is something you don’t seem to be familiar with.

Passages referencing male and female anatomy as well as an acknowledgement of same-sex attraction in an unabridged, illustrated version of Anne Frank’s diary are what led to the recent firing of a Texas middle school teacher. Last week, an 8th grade teacher with Hamshire-Fannett ISD who has not been identified publicly was fired by the district after she had students read excerpts of Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation during a reading class. District officials claim the illustrated work was not approved as part of the curriculum and called its content inappropriate.

This isn’t the book you read in Junior High.

I seriously question whether this is the book that Anne Frank wrote… I have read the original publication and the revised version when her father’s editorial omissions were restored. and the text, which you are obviously unacquainted with is entirely innocuous.

You could not have read the graphic novel adaptation, which is what I stated and what was used in this instance.

You also didn’t bother to read the link provided.

Funny how you think you are the only one to have read any of the material discussed. :joy:

Freudian Slip eh?

If the content being removed, is highly sexual in nature, by your post, are you saying you approve of this content being exposed or read to children?

…and that is one ignorant post.
