How about we bring back public floggings for all of those caught smashing and grabbing?
Better yet for thugs like those who beat that bus driver half to death the other night just for fun.

No. Because the governed being looted still aren’t themselves (or their employees/agents) shooting the ungovernable doing the looting. They are still looking to government to save or protect them. And they keep voting for the idiots failing them.
This stops when criminals start dying in numbers. As should be the case with rioters and looters anywhere.
Imagine if the ordinary people of Ferguson had defended their property from the rioters and looters? How many fewer riots there might have been over these last few years.

The local mall was built on this large-footprint hill and named Vista Ridge.
When the landfill (which I call Mt Pampers) a mile away became one of the highest things around and a large part of the “vista” the mall changed its name.

It’s the difference between respect and fear. To respect a threat is to acknowledge it’s existence and take appropriate actions to mitigate it , to fear a threat is to live in dread and hopeless despair, to deny a threat is to live in willful naivete. The first is for the upright, the second for cowards and the third for children and fools.

What’s driving these uptick in news stories and therefore threads isn’t respect. It’s an agenda to scare people so they will act or vote in a certain way.
There smash and grab jobs aren’t new. They are no more prevalent than they were in the past. But look at that all the posters who proclaim themselves free of the media. Free of their agenda to push scary covid stories falling for it. With both feet no less

So the robberies are an inconvenient truth for progressives. And all of the local stations reporting the stories are right wing propaganda outlets trying to influence voting.
Better writes and new scripts are in order.
