Didn’t we just have 4 years of instability? How long has England and the EU been unstable? Is that going to continue?

If they’d just stayed outside, all we’d be talking about is a couple of thousand ardent protesters who don’t believe their votes counted.

She was the only one going through the window and she was unarmed.

If the mob had forced the door you have a huge disparity of force and an obvious deadly threat to everyone you are defending.

Hosing the crowd at that point becomes not only legal but a necessity to stop them.

Like I say though, if this is the new standard I’m fine with it but we’re going to start piling bodies up like cord wood when future protest turn violent.

That’s not an answer. That rhetoric changed the world. And it was a cry of populism.

Come on man!

Or in the lobby.

It literally changed the world so no, it’s not “just rhetoric”.

It is a truly amazing piece of work and part of the Organic Laws of The United States.

Lobby generally open to unscheduled tourists on Jan 6, every four years?

Yesterday. If they stay in the lobby, they aren’t threatening the ruling class.

No I wouldn’t. My life was in danger.

She crossed the threshold. The shot was fired when her torso came in the window.

So am I. So far, about 80 people found out stupid hurts.

If it’s generally open, sure. If it’s not, they’re asking to pose for the cops. Prob. on federal charges.

No, that argument wont’ hold up in most states.

The last I agree with.

The ruling class was in a stronghold, like the chapel in the castle. The girl got shot because she got too close to her betters.

Broadly, yes. But, if we’re discussing material outcomes, trespassing on federal property is a dodgy proposition.

If you want to do it right, look no further than Alcatraz.

Nah, they wouldn’t have prosecuted the lobby after the cops let them walk in.

I know, that was intentional. I’m a little non compos mentis at the moment.

Sure. And it was beautiful.

Depends on tactics and messaging. The 504 sit-in in SF remains the gold standard.

I don’t believe anyone ever tried to break into Alcatraz.

Shall we move the congress to Alcatraz?

I’m under no obligation to let them grow in numbers past the window in order to defend myself. In fact, I’ve already retreated from my living room into the hallway, now barricaded. They’re still coming, one just got through, others are behind her. They’re in the house, now taking away my last refuge. I’m taking the shot.
