Honestly, even as a former Republican myself, I blame the Republican Party for a lot of this. They are the enablers. They have cowered before Trump and covered for him through this whole process - and they should have known better.
These are happening while coming back into the US. And they are only stopping Journalists, Lawyers and advocates who are helping people with legal issues in Mexico. Not just any normal citizens. They are being targeted for what they do.

Being stopped at the border crossing into the US is expected. Secondary inspection is a hassle but not uncommon.
But stopped from entering Mexico?
One photojournalist said she was pulled into secondary inspections three times and asked questions about who she saw and photographed in Tijuana shelters. Another photojournalist said she spent 13 hours detained by Mexican authorities when she tried to cross the border into Mexico City. Eventually, she was denied entry into Mexico and sent back to the U.S.
That amazes me.
Homeland Security has more information on these journalists than the kids they seperated from their parents.

When you run for President, you sign up for the criticism, the intrusive questions and you give up certain civil liberties. A normal American citizen does not. These are normal American citizens.

Probably the concern is over those who are helping organize caravans and advising illegals to pretend assylum. They are assisting aliens, not bringing rights to American citizens.
If they donāt want to be quesioned, then they need to refuse giving answers.
And as I said, I just donāt have much sympathy with those who want to send out fishing expedition questions and demands to nearly a hundred people based on their political associations all of a sudden pretendking to care about investigations of innocent people. The hypocrisy is just too strong.

My side is not without blame either. Unconstitutional watch lists have been around since at least the beginning of the Patriot Act and Democrats did absolutely nothing about them when they had complete control.
