What in my posts suggested naiveté?
I agree that China will not solve this challenge. And I agree that China should not be left the led the world.
None of that negates the fact that IMO we should take action now for our own purposes.

Taking actions that don’t actually have any chance of effecting global climate, while those actions will harm national security and increase the likelihood of a military conflict is the naive portion. Intentions are warm and fuzzy, but actual outcomes are what matters.

The US taking action alone - and don’t forget, it won’t be totally alone - we have Europe on on our side - will have an effect. Just not as big as one with China.
But everything you are saying is why we need a treaty with other Pacific Rim countries that will isolate China and deemphasize their position in the global economy.
I thought he had to refill the blinker fluid, then replace the muffler bearings.

It doesn’t mean anything. It’s a slogan, not a principle.
It’s value comes from using it to malign the opposition.
American policy is always made in America’s best interest, from the perspective of the policy maker.

If the infrastructure bill is actually spent on US infrastructure and efficiently, I would call that America First.
If only US companies were hired to do the work and made to hire US citizens to do it, I would call that America Firster.

I would like to see some infrastructure building of critical medical supply manufacturing in the US. By US companies.

Well that will never happen. It’s going through government.

Any other examples of good America First policies?
I have seen government ideas of incentives that they say would keep manufacturing jobs in the U.S…
But when Apple says that they have to manufacture IPhones in China to make it affordable here, isn’t that a America first policy? When WalMart and Target purchase over a third of their products from China to make those things affordable here, isn’t that a America first policy? When Apple, WalMart and Target are major contributors to political parties, what do you think is going to happen?

Those are great questions. I’m looking forward to the responses.

Keystone would be years from completion.
I would rather have better American manufacturing jobs than cheap products. I pay more for American-made when it’s available.

Cheap price doesn’t mean anything if your population doesn’t have the income to purchase the product. And Cheap production costs for profit are the primary motives that a company moves production. Pardon me if I cast a jaundiced eye on Apples so called altruism.
Move enough production out of your country and you don’t have manufacturing capacity to convert to war time production and you will loose.
