Hardly anyone celebrates it in the USA. Most do not even know about it. That is quite sad.
In Europe, it is celebrated by many countries…much more than we do.
Maybe because there are more people in unions.
I think it’s the marketing. The word “Marxist” in the title of anything throws Americans into convolutions.

Why would we copy Sweden, Swedish immigrants to America make more money then people in Sweden. And not just by a little, as of 2009 Swedish Americans made 53% above their native counterparts back home in Sweden.

Would love to see see link to that.

Your wish is my command.
from If Sweden’s Big Welfare State Is Superior to America’s Medium Welfare State, then Why Do Swedes in America Earn Far More than Swedes in Sweden? | International Liberty
Here are a couple of excerpts from the IEA study.
The 4.4 million or so Americans with Swedish origins are considerably richer than average Americans, as are other immigrant groups from Scandinavia. If Americans with Swedish ancestry were to form their own country, their per capita GDP would be $56,900, more than $10,000 above the income of the average American. This is also far above Swedish GDP per capita, at $36,600. Swedes living in the USA are thus approximately 53 per cent more wealthy than Swedes (excluding immigrants) in their native country (OECD, 2009; US Census database). It should be noted that those Swedes who migrated to the USA, predominately in the nineteenth century, were anything but the elite. Rather, it was often those escaping poverty and famine. …A Scandinavian economist once said to Milton Friedman, ‘In Scandinavia, we have no poverty’. Milton Friedman replied, ‘That’s interesting, because in America, among Scandinavians, we have no poverty, either’. Indeed, the poverty rate for Americans with Swedish ancestry is only 6.7 per cent: half the US average (US Census).

Did they take into account, that swedes do not have to pay a dime for college education?
Did they take into account, that swedes do not have to pay a dime for medical care?
Once one factors in those expenses, the delta is not that wide.

You appear to be bad at math. Are you paying 20k a year for college and health insurance? I sent one to medical school and the other to a four year and still nowhere close to 20k a year over in my earning lifetime.

Yes they do, in there taxes.

Why would Amazon Workers ever need a Union ?
Where I used to work for 5 years they were called summer help. They got paid less than 1/3 union members for doing 90% of the same work. If they came back next year, they got .50 more per hour!!!

I am not sure that unions are Amazon’s greatest concern now. Maybe the strategy of burning through the local labor supply at a high rate was not the best long term business strategy
We have a holiday for a criminal that held a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly to rob her.
Pretty comparable actually.

Unions protecting workers is fine, agaisnt big corporate or big government until they are simultaneously political or activist with the marxist agenda. Then it becomes collectivist leftist.
Gaming the system should not be something unions should do.
Communist activists saw unions as a way to infiltrate America and other countries. Organized Crime saw unions in a similar way----to control.

That’s what I would do if I were Bezos, shut it down and move somewhere else.
