Alita: Battle Angel

I saw this movie over the weekend in Dolby 3D format. I thought it was a really good movie. It had some really good action scenes, and really developed the characters a good bit. It kind of drew you into their circle. It is set in a post apocalyptic earth 500 years in the future. One reason I wanted to see the Dolby 3D format was that I had heard the visuals were really impressive, and I have to say that was one of the highlights for me. This was the first Dolby 3D movie I had seen, and it was a good experience.

Overall, I’d give the movie an “A-.”

Does the new format require different glasses?

Yes, they are similar to IMAX 3d glasses, but are a little bit clearer.

In the trailers I find the lead characters overly large eyes so creepy and distracting that I have no desire to see the full film. When every other character is an actual person I’m confused why they went with this CGI monstrosity as the lead.

The eye thing is a throw back to the source materiel.

wait your telling me Hollywood took a beloved Japanese property and didn’t completely ■■■■ it up?

Saw Alita today, and it was a decent movie. I liked the action scenes as well as character development.

It’s a good movie for a matinee fare.

I give it a grade of an B+.
