That’s not correct. First of all, the dummy bullets I have used are very real, with real casings, real bullets and a primer (obviously unprimed) in place. You would not be able to tell the difference except by weighing them for the weight of the powder.

He’s telling you the truth here, I saw the comparison of bullets (dummy vs. real) and the only difference is at the tip of the bullet. The real one is more pointed than the dummy. Otherwise the bullets are absolutely identical.

The argument was that Baldwin should, after being told he had a “cold gun” (a gun with only dummy bullets in it), should have inspected it himself just to make sure it was safe. But with the gun being loaded he would have had to pull the bullets out just to see the tips and try to compare them. Which seems a bit unrealistic, and isn’t done on movie sets by any actor, ever.

The armorer who was convicted was the daughter of a legendary armorer and this was her second film assignment. So she definitely screwed the pooch here and played things way too loose. She brought live ammo onto the set so she could do target practice on breaks for fun. Which is a huge NO NO. And then she mixed the live ammo into the bin with the dummy bullets. She should have and was prosecuted, she is currently serving time for what she did.

Why the NM GOP was so hellbent on prosecuting Baldwin is evident. He made fun of Trump. They kept hiring prosecutors until one finally agreed to do it, and she hid evidence in order for it to happen. This case was already paper thin, this just killed it completely.

Wouldn’t be the first time a holster caused that problem.

The Russians went nuts for some crazy Makarov hostler in the 90s. And were then shocked they were negligently discharging all over the ground when they tried to pull their pistols.

Of course some of that came from a change of how they holstered their pistols anyway. In the Soviet era they were trained to not keep a round in the chamber and to rack the slide as they drew the sidearm. Leftover from the old TT-33 days since it didn’t have a safety or double action trigger. When the Union collapsed new training based on how western soldiers and police officers carried their side arms came into the picture. Needless to say the leftover old timers had problems.

Yeah my bad, some of them did make it all the way to E-4 by the time their 8 years was up and they were no longer eligible.

Dont necessarily have to be in holster, it can accidently fire just when it is sitting at rest.

My Sig does not have a manual safety. It has yet to go off when not intended too. Granted the only time it is loaded is when either myself or hubby is carrying or plinking, but all the times it’s been bounced around in and outside of a holster, never a problem.

Personally I’m not comfortable with no actual manual safety , but it fits me well and I like it.
