Try 43k applications, 2k admits. Trying to claim an admit rate of over 20% at HYPS schools is laughable and shouldn’t pass any kind of rational smell test.

Let me help you out a bit here. The “class of 2018” students began classes in 2014, 5 years ago. It’s no longer 2014, by the way, and the current group - the class of 2023 - had 43k applicants, detailed with data directly from Harvard in the link I provided, and which you apparently ignored. I don’t know where you went to school, but 43k is certainly not “about 30k”.

Most absurdly, you claimed “7k” admits, which is patently ridiculous. No one with even the vaguest knowledge of Harvard or any of the highly selective schools would believe a 23%+ admit rate (hint - it’s actually roughly 5%), or a class that large. Perhaps you believe that 5% is almost 23%?

Now . . . exactly who is flailing here? Perhaps it’s the one throwing out random numbers without giving them a critical thought.
