how long?
“Trump campaigned heavily on the price of food in 2024, promising that if elected he would lower costs. The average price of eggs — a frequent stand-in for inflation during the campaign — had declined from its peak in the spring and is back below last November’s prices. Average orange juice prices are up 29% and ground beef prices are up nearly 14% from where the two were a year ago.“
price of food way up.
there is just no getting around it.

So the government doesn’t do job numbers anymore?
The BLS released the delayed September employment and labor force data this morning, +119,000.
In December they will release employment for november but there will be no labor force data.
Of course. I love enganging with you, your and indirect comments about me (rent free baby!) and your new found love for emojis
. Cant stop won’t stop.

Ever notice how the longer a lib has been alone in life, the more these graphs hurt? ![]()
Ever notice how benchmarking BLS data works?
Sept mixed bag, increased in jobs but manufacturing continues its downward loss trend. Increase in unemployment. Oct report will be missing so skip to December when the Nov report drops. Next Fed interest rate decision is Dec 10 but have no clarity on which to base decision so may stay pat.
We’ll get the employment / Establishment data for October. Just not the labor force data.
Job reports are pretty meaningless. When people vote on the economy, they don’t check reports to see how they feel about the economy.
This reminds me of my favorite Reagan quote (tho to be fair it might be mis-attributed to him):
“A recession is when your neighbor loses their job. A depression is when you lose your job.”
