It’s not just her body. Inside a pregnant woman is a separate being with its own, unique DNA. It’s not the same as cancer cells (even if it is mutated- which it is, because cancer is a result of DNA replication/synthesis going haywire during mitosis- it is still made up of the majority of the owner’s DNA. A fetus is only has half of the mother’s DNA).

As I’ve stated elsewhere, here are some milestones of pregnancy;

• Both the myocardial contractile cells and the autorhymic cells of the heart are fully functioning by 8 weeks.

• The nervous system development begins major development around 4 weeks, forming a neural grove and over time, the two sides of the grove tend to fuse, forming a neural tube. Around 20 weeks, it is refined enough for the fetus to feel pain.

• Even at birth, the lungs are still developing. It takes 8 years after birth for the alveolar sacs in the lungs (the sacs responsible for gas exchange) to develop completely.

With the pro-choice argument regarding the development of the fetus, technically by that standard kids are disposable until 8 years, because their lungs haven’t finished developing. I think that argument is not based in morality or in reason.

However, while I’m pro-life, I’m willing to compromise based on how long the pregnancy is. I think that aborting any creature beyond 10 weeks is barbaric, in any case, but that’s just me. If it’s due to rape/incest, there’s always the morning after pill, and in cases of threatening the mother’s life, I would leave the decision up to the mother and the doctor, but only in that extreme case. And I’m always for contraceptives.

Every abortion results in at least one human life snuffed out.

It’s not about the woman’s body, and you know that.

As for the “celibate MEN” and “BOYS protesting” canard, there was a full mix of all genders and demographics at the march for life.

Everyone is entitled to elevate awareness of the biological truth regarding abortion.

So a fetus in the womb at 39 weeks is less important than a baby outside the womb? If a mother doesn’t want her kids anymore, she can just abandon them because her choice is more important? I can see where that’d make sense early in gestation, like <8 weeks, but in the later trimesters? I don’t know.

Why “only men’s bodies”?

Abortion doesn’t involve only the woman’s body. It kills her child too.

Society shouldn’t be endorsing the killing of one’s offspring.

Can you point to which pro-lifers have said they view a woman like this? If you can quote a pro-lifer, do so. Otherwise, please don’t paste your own view onto them. What many, like myself, on pro-life see is life and life giver.

Its very simple, if the woman doesn’t want it inhabiting her body she has every right to have it removed even if this results in its death

Self-defense is a standard justification in any killing. And a reasonable one. If a life is going to end, the potential victim is fully justified to turn that lost life onto the one threatening him/her.

It shouldn’t even have to be specified in abortion laws. And abortion advocates are using such cases as virtual human shields to justify all other abortions.

Indeed. I don’t think they understand the issue is not that black and white, and if abortion is to remain legal without any strings attached, people can (and already are) abusing the system and using abortion as birth control. Approving taxpayer funded abortions would make things even worse.

The U.S has one of the most permissive laws regarding abortion. Heck, it’s even more permissive than the U.K- the U.K has bans dependent on the gestation age. Anything past 20 weeks is illegal, if I remember correctly.
