A newborn doesn’t really have any consciousness either. So is it okay to abort them too? Many post-born babies are premature. Is it okay to abort them, because they were not carried to term?
When the brain sections that show neurological correlation to cognition and self awareness in born humans begin to form. Now, since you’re a doctor (you took a few college courses) surely you can tell me.

“Human life” without consciousness isnt meaningful beyond biological / naturalistic reductionism. And yes, new borns exhibit signs of consciousness. Young fetuses do not.
Then prove it. Prove that they have self-awareness.

On his faculty page, Mr. Singer (professor of Bioethics at Princeton) says: “Newborn human babies have no sense of their own existence over time. So killing a newborn baby is never equivalent to killing a person, that is, a being who wants to go on living."

I’ll say this. If babies arent conscious until they are 6 months old, it’s even more reason to allow abortions in early term fetus development. But ya keep arguing that newborns have no consciousness that will help!
